I don't repeat it here as it's consenting to what the hospital's director said...it means that one raises a girl instilling fear and put the reponsability for getting raped on the girl (when it got trapped alone).

I tend to agree with those who demand a change in the educational system and social / judicial reaction.

I just cant, I don't even think there is a word to describe this kind if atrocity. Laws need to change, criminals have to be held to the highest punishment possible. He is right hopefully next generation will be better but in the mean time, these people have to be held accountable.

Compassionate to rapists? That is unthinkable. As a member here has explained the trauma the victims suffer(if they are alive) is life long. Same goes for victim's family. A bright life gets traumatised for life. The consequences for the victim's mental and physical health is severe. Death punishment should be mandatory.

It's great that celebrities have commented on it but let's not forget what people like Zinta and Rani Mukherji have said about SA. Acting outraged when there's a horrific crime is pointless if that's your attitude. But anyway for now any outrage is good outrage.

Death sentence ,well. Innocent people could be framed and killed. Especially in a place like ours where law and order is a joke. Joe Arrady ,a mentally ill ( neurodivergent ) man from the U.S was executed for rape in the 1930s. He was 23. Decades later it turned out he wasn't the one who did it. The cops had manipulated him into confessing. Was given a posthumous pardon in 2012 or something which was ofcourse pointless.

Aaaand....it's the easy way out. Like Paro said it's too lenient. Their lives should be prolonged as much as possible and they should be put through living hell everyday until they're driven to offing themselves.

If they have solid evidence(like in this case one culprit is caught and he himself admitted it), then there should be no problem in giving death sentence. No innocent life will be lost.

Oh, we have two threads about this crime... can't we merge them? Otherwise it's commenting twice the same...

Point no 8 is enough to make my blood boil, no wonder these monsters get the courage to do something like this because they know their families will always back them.

When bribery ,intimidation ,corruption etc are commonplace the solidity of evidence ends up being a case by case thing. If you are influential enough, if you act fast enough , and if you're in the right place with enough accomplices evidence can be planted /fabricated easily. And confessions are forced out of people all the time. And there are other complications. If the rapist is a relative or a parent or somebody in the close circle of the victim she could be emotionally blackmailed into being silent about it. She'd be told to think about his parents/children and so on. She'd be forced to have a whole ass philosophical debate with herself about life and death when thats the last thing a traumatised person should be put through. The stress and the guilt could make victims hesitant to report rape.

The other thing would be ,I hate using crude expressions here but post nut clarity in the perpetrator, if it's a sex crime. The possibility of being executed would make him desperate and might motivate him to murder the victim . Trying to make sure she isn't alive to report it or to get 'even' with her since he's going to die if he's caught. So deterrence can be tricky. It can backfire .
