I was reminded of an old article after you brought up Amazon https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2021/mar/11/amazon-delivery-drivers-bathroom-breaks-unions

Like someone said, koi bhi itna ameer sirf seedhe raste pe chalke nahi banta. I feel so bad, the world is a sh*tty place with so much of power imbalance, and also the rich exploiting the poor like this.

https://www.rediff.com/news/report/ambani-adani-tata-will-move-to-dubai-if-india-imposes-inheritance-tax/20240508.htm

Political economist and author Gautam Sen has said the idea to impose a wealth tax in India will lead to the country's super rich, the Ambanis and the Adanis, moving their bases out to countries like Dubai to avoid paying tax.

All feku predictions nothing will be imposed on Richie rich 🤑

Pissed, no because it doesnt affect me in any which way. But grossed out for sure, their blatant show off for their wealth is nauseating. They could do soooooooooooo much more which would impact a world in positive way than waste money on multiple parties. And i agree, Nita seems to the orchestrator of this, she is fulfilling her own Bollywood dreams by recreating them in her kids life.

Her kids are just doing all of this coz Nita is making them do it smiley36 they can't dance but she gets them all on stage to do performances, each one has to do a performance with their husband/wife and then they all do a performance together, and Nita also makes all of her friends and their husbands dance on stage smiley36

And let's not forget Nita's solo dance that she does at the start of every sangeet, its her childrens wedding but they have literally no choice on what happens, everything is decided by Nita. I'm sure nita chooses their clothes and jewellery for each function and what they say for their speeches, she definitely seems like a controlling person. And the in-laws I'm sure have even less of a say in what happens smiley36 All the events are only organised by the ambanis

And she definitely dreamt of being a bollywood heroine, she just loves the fame and glitz/glamour

Most billionaires live in an alternate universe. Many have God like complexes and use their money to bring change in the world as they see fit, not necessarily in a positive way.

Coming to the Ambani’s they do it because they can. They are the modern day equivalent of royalty from the days gone by. Yes they could be tasteful about these weddings but they have decided to use these occasions as marketing opportunities, to show their clout and stay relevant. I used to be turned off by these extravagant over the top events but now have become an interested observer.

Moreover, speaking of vulgar displays, we see so many rich people and not so rich people flashing their jewels, cars, clothes, extravagant weddings, vacations and so on. None of these are necessities. An argument could be made that this money would be better spent on charity. So it’s all relative. I guess for the Ambanis, this is how they wish to celebrate their events with money which is just a drop in the bucket for them.

Life is a struggle for ordinary folks everyday and therefore this display of wealth is resented. Perhaps it would be prudent for the Ambanis to not be so flashy.

I know it's their money and all but it will be on my social media and I am kinda bored of it,aren't they?Wasn't the first round of pre wedding festivities enough?

But if that will help in people's employment or help the economy then that's good ig

Hope that applies to Bill Gates too and many movie stars and rock stars who own obscene amount of money

Come to think of it a laborer who works all day contributes more to society than entertainers

@bold - but SRK has more money than a Laborer.

By the logic in this thread- srk doesn’t deserve it.
I support Mannat’s redistribution whenever RaGa comes to power and decide to implement inheritance and wealth redistribution like socialism nonsense. smiley36
