Part 1 in 2027? Ranbir will start looking like King Dasharatha before part 2 filming begins.

Himesh said it is likely releasing in 2026, so I guess it doesn't seem like it is releasing next year.

This just makes me think how much post production are they going to do for the film, it needs 2- 3 years post production?

Honestly, I tend to think like you because this isn't positive PR, actually.

Everybody first may think "how this movie will become a financial success with such a budget" or "this will become another Brahmastra"...anyways more negative thinking than positive, even for Ranbir fans.

As the VFX company is DNEG, they will do good work but they are very expensive because it is a British company (even though with an Indian branch). Brahmastra's budget exploded because they had to redo the former VFX work, so Dharma had to shed money for the first work (which didn't satisfy) and then went to DNEG who redid/enhanced/renewed the digital treatment. Covering the almost doubling of costs by pretending that they paid for the sequel also, was simply a lie as nothing has been shot for the sequel already.

Edit: Just to give a comparison: SRK's Zero whose VFX work by RedChillies got internationally lauded, had a budget of about 200 cr (with almost all scenes getting five different filming work) which isn't much (although it had been in 2017/18 and ShahRukh was co-producer and certainly didn't take a salary).

Rajamouli's RRR had a budget of almost 450 cr, btw.

That's definitely a valuable thought when reading such a number... (but is the number correct or is it negative PR by someone else?)

It takes away the simplicity of Ramayana. They are making a movie just for business purpose.

How reliable is this? 800 plus crores is a lot of money.
