Well done & well deserved
Well done & well deserved
The Punjabi community in both Vancouver and Toronto does not care about Bollywood. They hardly watch movies in the theatre, so going to watch them on stage is unimaginable. The Bollywood audience is more in the US. Diljit’s stardom in Canada is beyond even SRK. Nobody cares about Bollywood there. They don’t support Bollywood or anything Hindi language related.Originally posted by: EnchantedForest
If it is that easy than why cant everyone do it? Even his recent tour with Mouni, Sonam, Nora was a huge flop show.
Akshay's show is expected to draw a minimum of 8,000 to 10,000 fans, says Ajay Virmani, President of Toronto-based Cargojet, who organises shows and dabbles in film production.
Akshay's show may eclipse the demand for the Unforgettable show in Vancouver, which was scheduled for August 17. It has been cancelled due to poor ticket sales, attributed to the fact that Akshay was not going to perform in the concert.
It is no secret that the Toronto show did not sell more than 8,000 tickets in a stadium where they could seat 30,000 people.

I did not understand the need to put that word in there. Reported! It is not just Canada where Bollywood concerts are not selling. When Diljit comes he fills up arenas and stadiums, even in the USA.
Why do you try to belittle Diljit's achievement?

Yes and full credit for Diljit’s success in the US. I’m just specifically saying that it’s not a big achievement in Canada due to the nature of the population. What’s there to be upset about ?Originally posted by: EnchantedForest

It’s literally a no brainer;
300,000 Indians live in Vancouver
55,000 seats in the stadium
What’s so shocking about it being a sold out stadium or biggest Punjabi concert out of Indian?
Selling out a 55,000 seater arena is a big deal for even the biggest American artistes.
Especially when you have only 300 K people to pull from. India has 1.5 Billion people and if 2% of them watch a film, it becomes an All time blockbuster.
Not to mention not all 300 K are punjabi.
