Ok I figured it was Salman who was keeping Aishwarya safe from unwarranted attention. Mahima also said that when her career was on the downhill, that Salman was one of only 2 or 3 people in Bollywood who made an effort to check up on her and was still friends with her.

If this is true then why did Ash get offended when Rani replaced her in Chalte Chalte?

Rani and Aish were best friends. I don't think she had any relationship with Mahima, not that this completely absolves Aish if Mahima came to her for solidarity.

Aish and Preity were also friends. When Aish was removed from Veer-Zaara at SRK's demand, Preity went to Aish first to ask her if it was okay to take the role. The double insult was that Yash Chopra really wanted Aish in the movie, so when SRK said no to Aish playing Zaara, Yash Chopra tried to cast Aish in the secondary female role instead. But SRK would not let her be in the film at all so this is how Rani got the part and a second role of Aish's.

This is why Aish and Preity are still friends to this day whereas Aish could not forgive that Rani took two of her roles without ever asking her. The issue wasn't Rani taking the roles, the issue was that Rani never bothered to approach her friend and ask her if she was okay with this. Preity did come to Aish and Aish had no problem telling Preity to go ahead and accept.

Something else that bonded Preity and Aish as friends was that both were outsiders to the film industry unlike Rani. Both were also heavily targeted by Kareena. Both Kareena and Karishma especially hated Aish and blamed her for supplanting Karishma in popularity.

Ghai and his casting couch is common knowledge in Btown, Aishwarya was offered taal in return of undue favors. Amisha Patel has political(grand daughter of Rajneesh Patel)and mafia links, and heresay is that her name came up in several Dgang related investigations. Without getting into sensational details all the Btown celebs seek Dgang blessings 🙌 to stay in the industry.

Rani Aish had a fallout due to chalte chalte movie, which was already shot with Aish and SrK as the leads, however they had to reshoot with Rani due to the ruckus created by Sallu bhai. Also preity and Aish had a fallout due to Jr.Bacchan issue. Rani snatched a film from Aish(chalte chalte) Aish snatched Jr.Bacchan from Rani, forcing Rani to settle with Aditya Chopra, poor Payal Khanna was the collateral in all this and she had to settle with a meagre 200CR alimony

When did Preity and Aish have a fallout over Bachchan Jr? I've never heard of Preity being romantically involved with him. Only Rani. And Preity and Aish continue to say they're good friends.

RGV didn’t even inform her or her manager that she had been dropped from Satya. She had to find out from the media.
