So you can't generalise Muslims as terrorists based on the actions of a few, but it's perfectly ok generalising an entire country, well namely Goddess worshippers (i.e Hindus) as rapists based on the actions of a few.
This is liberal logic for you.

The guy's a genius.
Unfortunately many recently got their "sentiments hurt" by him too. 😭
What about this 😆
Do you go and announce your personal and family problems on everyone on the street.
Or do you try and solve it within yourselves

Nothing wrong in announcing it if it would.solve the issue.
Like when the farmer issue needed attention.
Because internal protests weren't working.
But this 2 India presentation doesn't seem to have been done to better anything. It certainly wasn't funny.
it would benefit one person and one person alone. So feels like Vir Das sold out for personal profit. :(

Nope. Crass jokes not equal to rape. Anyone who can't understand that is the problem.
And yes, free speech by definition includes hate speech. Any country which criminalizes hate speech is by definition authoritarian.
Because *hatred* can be defined differently by different people.
Is calling Mary a wh*re now punishable? Is calling Islamic terrorists Islamic punishable? Is calling Karwa Chauth patriarchal punishable? Depending on who you ask, all these will be considered hate speech.
So *dude,* it is authoritarian to make hate speech punishable.
And lemme say ciao with one very Indian thing to say. Just because everyone else does it (Canada among others acc to you which I have to verify), doesn't mean it either right or that you have to do it, too.
For the final time, NOBODY said crass jokes is the SAME as rape. Please read and understand what I said. Getting really tired of repeating myself.
Bold: No offense, but none of these constitute hate speech. You really need to acquaint yourself with some definitions. Hate speech is when you spread hatred against an ethnic group and call for them to be discriminated against. Making fun of religion or religious extremists is not hate speech.
If you say that Canada and France are authoritarian, then there's nothing left to argue, really. 😆
Ciao.

All these debates and different opinions r good for time pass..what r we as people doing on ground..
Yes our country has 1000 problems..so does the world..and we as a human race make it what it is..
Khud ki soch badalni hai..baaki baatein to hoti rahegi..
We have problems..we acknowledge it..ok good.
Does it help? Tell the same thing n number of times, what change will it bring?
Acknowledgement is the first step..and we have taken that first step decades ago. Our country is backward, poor, third world, not worth living..itna bol bol Kar bhi population billions me hai.
Aur Bas wahin par atke hai..when someone tries to take a second step and bring a change we say yahan kuch nahi badalne wala. Change brings chaos..but we like status quo. Things r bad..fine let them be bad as long as we r comfortable.
World won't feel good about us till we feel good about ourselves
Ok so we did this again..maintaining the status quo.. we literally forced the gov to repeal the farm laws.
Now the rich farmers who protested in SUVs will keep getting richer and poor will stay poor. We care less coz it doesnt directly affect us..the ones who r affected have never really had a say.
Now we will go back to the usual..when poor farmers commit suicide we will keep shedding crocodile tears and blame this same gov who tried to bring about a change. We will come down on it heavily for doing nothing for poor farmers.
Chalo..things r returning back to normal..congrats to all

Yes when one family member is trying to rip the family apart....creating rifts between family members and it gets out of hand...u have to involve outsiders if telling them has a hope of getting the family back together...

If women are getting raped and murdered in my family, then I sure won’t try to keep it a secret.

When the top ministers of your country are delusional enough to say that...a girl in Uttar Pradesh wearing gold jewelry can walk alone in the middle of the night and nothing will happen to her....and you have people clapping for that...this lie has to be told to the world so that no unsuspecting and trusting woman actually tries it and pays with her dignity and life.....when the CM of Uttar Pradesh....tells you that the gunda and mawalis of UP have left UP because of the strict administration...his lie needs to be exposed.....I am from Uttar Pradesh...my family still lives there.....so ain't nobody coming and arguing with me that I know nothing ......point in case is...that when your family members say untrue things that can put the life of other family members in danger....outsiders need to be involved...
Keeping the religious remark aside.
Let's say gang rape happens in Ottawa or pick any random cities of Canada.
Would one Canadian go abroad and say "I come from Canada a Land of gang rapists.."
How would people abroad form perception of Canada and how should a Canadian react to it..
