Was Sushmita Sen better choice for Jhansi Ki Rani: Manikarnika?

Sushmita Sen, Aishwarya Rai both have regal faces and personalities for larger than life roles. Esp. for queen or female warrior roles require regal looks. While Aishwarya is feminine who suits for romantic queen roles. Sushmita has macho personality which suits for warrior type roles like Jhansi Ki Rani.

Sushmita is a literal goddess- so yes of course. She was fab in her web series Aarya too.

Her "Dilbar Dilbar" & "Mehboob Mere" are two iconic item songs. If given more opportunities she could have been in better position.

No. Look at any painting of Rani Lakshmibai and it's a very plain faced woman. So it doesn't matter that Sushmita might look more "regal". Then Sushmita's diction is a problem too. No matter what role she does she sounds like herself, a modern city woman.

The only time she was the better choice was during Miss Femina India 1994 and Miss Universe 1994 - better than the girl who lost to her - and that’s about it 😛

Even sushmita ki naani in ripe old age is a better choice than kangu
