Also SOTY, Highway, UP, DZ were not clean hits. They don’t have “super hit” or “blockbuster status”

Agree about the chemistry. Shraddha did ok actually. But I felt the whole Half-girlfriend thing in the book ti be quite cringe. And not in Mohit's comfort zone. Shradha and Arjun looked like they could care less about each other though. And Arjun was just sleep walking. And wasnt there an incest/moslest angle in the book that was removed in the movie?

I replied to YOUR comments that she has hits and all that. I never brought up hits. That’s not what this topic is about. But I can understand why you’re diverting from what the reality is.

I actually haven't read the book. From what I gathered Shraddha's character as a whole couldn't completely commit to anything. It wasn't just relationships. She couldn't finish college and she had a divorce. Maybe it had something to do with her family and childhood. It seems like that angle needed to be explored so people could relate to her character more.

But I am a sucker for romantic books. I can't tell you how many "Kristin Higgins" books I have read or "Nicolas Spark" books. Nicolas Spark books have made for great movies. In fact I was on a Nicolas Spark inspired movies binge during parts of quarantine. I like romantic tv shows. It is how I first saw Sushant in "Kis Desh." Also I need an attractive couple. Ill be honest. I am kind of shallow. It would have been so much more fun to see Sushant eyeing Shraddha through college or never have his feelings die for her no matter how hard he tried. Sushant would have given so much more dreamier expressions. I guess I am upset I didn't get to see Sushant and Shraddha paired in a contemporary love story.

Sushant himself said that he choose Raabta instead of Half Girlfriend because of dates issues.
