Mohit Suri is a film director who debuted in 2005 with the movie Zeher.....he also directed Woh Lamhe which was critically acclaimed for its direction and Kangna Ranaut’s performance which is considered amongst her best.......In his early days, his constant collaborator and favorite actor was Emraan Hashmi where they worked on so many movies like Kalyug, Awarapan, and Murder 2
Mohit's work is often remakes of very successful Korean movies like Murder and Ek Villain which are very similar in plot lines to the Korean films the Chaser and I Saw The Devil, in addition to Awarapan which is a remake of the South Korean film a Bittersweet Life, all of which are uncredited work something Mohit was criticized for many times.
For anyone who watched the original Korean movies which I did by the way, will find them to be far more superior to the Indian remakes.... but it's clear that Mohit's main interest is action thriller revenge movies and his latest movie Malang could end up being a hit at the box office.
Even though many might argue whether Mohit is a good filmmaker or not, what's interesting about his work is his casting
He presented both Sidharth Malhotra, Riteish Deshmukh, and now Aditya Roy Kapur in a new light to the audience....In the case of Sidharth, his last hit movie was Ek Villain and now Aditya is giving a hit movie with Malang after so many flops and is going to star in Ek Villain 2...
So maybe regardless of his movies being remakes, Mohit as a filmmaker knows how to connect with audience.....would like to know your thoughts on this and who should Mohit cast next in his upcoming movies like Aashiqui 3 if it's going to happen or his next thriller movie
