Padmavat actually, again without inflation. Was a republic weekend release.

Oh yeah, forgot about that one. Somehow the release date of that movie was a blur. What is the biggest grosser if we take inflation into account? KNPH?

Yessir! BOI has KNPH as no. 1 in January, just about edging out Karan Arjun. But then again their lazy arse database is updated to about only 1993, so can't guarantee if there were any movies in the past with more footfalls in January. I think it's a good bet it would still be KNPH.

Tanhaji - The Unsung Hero Has Very Good First Week
Friday 17 January 2020 12.30 IST
Box Office India Trade Network
Tanahji - The Unsung Hero has had a a very good first week of 116 crore nett and saw fantastic holds over the weekdays. The weeeknd business was good but it really took of over the weekdays with the help of the holiday period.
The crucial Thursday when most of the holiday period is over held up very collecting over 11 crore nett. This is the highest collection ever for an Ajay Devgn film for a Thursday. The film has a chance of going anywhere the way it has held over the weekdays and even 200 crore nett cant be ruled out if Mumbai circuit keeps at this pace.
The could challenge the likes of Dangal and Sanju in Mumbai and if it does fall short it is still likely to beat the numbers of Sultan and Bajrangi Bhaijaan. The film has not done well everywhere as a lot of circuits do have low numbers like West Bengal is hardly 3.50 crore nett and East Punjab is below 7 crore nett. Delhi / UP is just 18 crore nett and this is when Mumbai has easily crossed 50 crore nett
The target for the film is probably to cross the numbers of Bajirao Mastaani as that film was also a Mumbai BLOCKBUSTER while other circuits did less. Tanhaji - The Unsung Warrior is also a very similar film to Bajirao Mastaani. The collections of Tanhaji - The Unsung Hero are as follows.
Friday - 14,50,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 19,75,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 25,50,00,000 apprx
Monday - 13,50,00,000 apprx
Tuesday - 15,25,00,000 apprx
Wednesday - 16,25,00,000 apprx
Thursday - 11,25,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 1,16,00,00,000 apprx
Glad this movie is doing good.
Atlast a period film that looks authentic.
Maratha characters are lucky for Ajay Devgan :)
Tanhaji - The Unsung Hero Has Strong Hold On Second Friday
Saturday 18 January 2020 02.00 ISTBox Office India Trade Network
Tanhaji - The Unsung Warrior had a strong hold on its second Friday as it collected 9.50 crore nett which is an apprx 15% drop from Thursday. There was a fall in the early morning shows especially mass centres and looked a bigger drop in morning but it made ground post the afternoon to get over 9 crore nett.
The film also continues its huge run in Maharashtra and it looks over 50% of its all india business is going to come from Maharashtra on its second Friday. The circuits that fall have centres in Maharashtra are Mumbai, CP Berar and Nizam / Andhra and these are the best circuits for the film.
The business in North is low as it looks it could remain below a film like Bala in both Delhi / UP and East Punjab. The film will probably see one of the most lopsided performances for such a big grosser. The film has a shot at 200 crore nett and if it does get there it will have around 50% of its business from Mumbai circuit.
Chhapaak has crashed further with collections down another 40% from Thursday as it collects in the 75 lakh nett range. The film will probably not reach the 35 crore nett mark.⭐️
Marching toward that 200 crore nett like a boss.
Tanhaji - The Unsung Warrior Second Saturday Business
Sunday 19 January 2020 09.00 ISTBox Office India Trade Network
Tanahji - The Unsung Warrior saw huge growth on saturday of around 60% as it collected 15.50 crore nett which takes it business to 141 crore nett in nine days. This Satuday growth means it is crusing to the 200 crore nett mark and the biggest NETT grosser of Ajay Devgn.
The film continues its insane run in Maharashtra and is going to be the second highest grossing film in the state after Bahubali - The Conclusion and will beat the local Marathi film Sairat. The film is creating history in Mumbai circuit and is also heading to be the highest NETT grosser ever in the circuit after Bahubali - The Conclusion and this is despite Gujarat / Saurashtra not being huge.
Its a totally different story in the North and East where in Delhi / UP, East Punjab and West Bengal it will not even be in the top 50 films of all time. Its unlikely there has been such a lopsided major Hindi grosser in history where the verdicts in different circuits range from ALL TIME BLOCKBUSTER (Mumbai) to FLOP (West Bengal). The collections of Tanhaji - The Unsung Warrior are as follows.
Friday - 14,50,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 19,75,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 25,50,00,000 apprx
Monday - 13,50,00,000 apprx
Tuesday - 15,25,00,000 apprx
Wednesday - 16,25,00,000 apprx
Thursday - 11,25,00,000 apprx
Week One - 1,16,00,00,000 apprx
Friday - 9,50,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 15,50,00,000 aprrx
Second Weekend - 25,00,00,000 apprx
