If they are smart, they'd have wide releases with English subs for international markets.
Once you discover some BW movies like I do, as an international fan, I am also curious about other industries..due to Bahubali, Eega, I, Tumbbad..
I'd say if there are widely available English subs they'd get bigger.
Example: Turkish drama releases today and by 3 day you have English subs, mostly..and it's posted everywhere... and they sell rights internationally pretty fast (and I guess wuite cheap, in the beginning) so nowadays Turkish and Koream dramas are like everywhere- because there are SO READILY AVAILABLE subtitles.
Koreans did the same; started slow..giving subs readily.. until they formed a big international fanbvase.
So if the regional industries are smart they'd make subtitles readily available and upload movies older than 3 years everywhere for free- so people interested in Indian movies beyond BW can start appreciating.
Once they form a huge international fanbases..they can then start releasing everything through some payment channel- or get a Netflix deal- and get huge revenue this way. And huge fandoms outside the Indian audience.
(Language and avaiilability and suffiecient promotion- those are the hurdles. Get over these issues and we might have regional movies do better)
