I made this statement so I am going to respond here. This wasn't targeted at Raveena at all. It was a general statement in regards to what Tasleema said about Burqa.

At the same time, neither I slšŸ§²t shamed Raveena for her choices nor I liked any sort of post slšŸ§²t shaming her.

Her open letter was like a licence for the bigots to start shaming other Muslims, an endorsement for them.

Exactly.... No one has a problem with her quitting.....but by making it a religious issue, she has got the religion into focus and how it supposedly is against art and artists (which may not be true)

It gave a free pass to those extremits to harass others.

Raveena has a relationship with her own God and one she doesnt care to share with the public....she had adopted 2 girls before it became fashionable even in HW and that's not to say anything about conservative India of those times...So just stop with all your misogyny and glass ceiling shit...

And btw Zaira Wasim is a big time attention seeker...we havent forgotten where she tried to destroy the life of an innocent man just because she's delusional herself to imagine sexual assault from behind a plane seat where there is like no space in between even...I mean imagine if someone putting their legs up and then person sitting in the front gets poked in their spine...thats' like sexual assault...šŸ˜† Anyway Zara is a bit cray cray

Like seriously why the whole post about Raveena goodness and religion?? Whoā€™s discrediting her about anything?? She implied that thereā€™s something wrong with the Kidā€™s decision and called her views regressive. Whoā€™s she to decide that?? Why is she attacking someone who didnā€™t do her any harm that too a kid that could be her kids age?? Itā€™s funny how you have a problem people attacking Raveena but completely ignoring why people are attacking her.

P.S no one attacked Raveena about wearing bikinis. Itā€™s true that women have the choice to wear what they want wether itā€™s burka or bikini. Whatā€™s wrong is to empower the one and call out of the other. Itā€™s quite hypocritical actually.

Raveena T is definitely insensitive

a cryptic tweet and an indirect dig HURTS much more than a direct one..atleast u know u r directly being targeted and can deal with it.

About Zaira, i'm not surprised because she has been sounding upset since a very long time and expressed her state of mind. She even spoke about being depressed, I didnt read the whole stuff but what i gathered, i can understand what she's being going through, girls from kashmir face a lot of wrath when trying to carve their own identity in entertainment industry. remember that girl band who had to succumb to the threat made by those pseudos. I wont be surprised if Zaira has bowed down to the same situation. But anyways, let her live her life peacefully. who r we to judge.

@dhume

An 18-year-old woman has come to a personal decision about her faith and career. It may not be the decision you would have made, or one that you would have wished her to make. But itā€™s still her decision. Letā€™s just thank #ZairaWasim for her work and wish her well. Case closed.

Shaista Masood

@ShaistaMasood2

I cant understand ! Why people think #ZairaWasim is thier brand ambassador and she would have represent thier ideology ? She was , she is , and she will be an individual. Her individuality shall be respected.

Junaid Malik

So many Bollywood actors have left the world of glamour and turned yogis and sanyasis.People applauded them for their spiritual (link: http://choices.so) choices.so has @ZairaWasimm made her choice.why should she be trolled because she is a muslim #ZairaWasim @GuftarAhmed

OmarAbdullah

Who are any of us to question @ZairaWasimmmā€™s choices? Itā€™s her life to do with as she pleases. All I will do is wish her well & hope that what ever she does makes her happy.

So if #ZairaWasim quits acting for religion reasons it is Islamic fundamentalism but when a Hindu actor decides to become a 'bahu' and stop acting it is good normal Hindu culture. #patriarchy #agency #choice #culture

  • Arfa Khanum Sherwani

    @khanumarfa

#ZairaWasim ā€˜s decision to dissociate with film industry (ā€˜because it interferes with her faithā€™) should be understood and respected as much as Nusrat Jahanā€™s Sindoor-Bindi.That did not make Nusrat immoral as this does not make Zaira more moral.*Freedom to choose is supreme*

Ų£Ł†ŁŠŁ‚Ų§.

@__aniqua

Indians hating on #ZairaWasim is peak big dick envyā€” 18 y/o woman of a marginalized community gets to be successful, then change her mind, & ā€œchooseā€ an entirely different lifestyle while they are still stuck with the engineering/medical degree their parents forced them into.

Lol bravo And doesn't matter if a gazillion films old epitome of vulgarity and obscenity uses her freedom of speech & restricting others their right to follow their imaan.Modi's hypocrite extremist

itā€™s her choice after all. Did she attack other religions?? If she said she wants to quit for her religion itā€™s her decision both quitting and making it public and unless she attack or did harm to anyone itā€™s wrong to attack her. One can criticize her for both but attacking is wrong. And you canā€™t blame someone for someone elseā€™s hatred about a religion. They sit and wait for the opportunity and if not her someone else would have said something then they would be ready to attack. Itā€™s not her fault that their thinking is like that.

Yes, I liked that post because I agree with what it says. Not everyone wants to do to tip tip all their life. Others choice to do others and thereā€™s nothing wrong with both. I donā€™t have to agree with all of the post to hit the like button. What Raveena said implied that others donā€™t have the right to choose religion over career whichā€™s wrong and none of her business. Seriously look yourself in the mirror. Zaira may be stupid and naive to say what she did in public but both you and Ranveena are doing way worse. Sheā€™s attacking 18 years old kid for her life decision and youā€™re attacking and entire religion because someone said something you didnā€™t like about an actress.

Yes I look at mirror everyday, and there is nothing more ugly than the image I see there.

I attacked billions?? If calling out someone who uses religion to defend their own insecurities, than yes I attacked billions, I will continue to do. No regrets in calling out fools.

This poster goes around typing this shit like this:

Zaira is a powerhouse talent but very few are celebrated for their authenticity. If not today then tomorrow they are expected to change and conform to the standards laid down by Bollywood for a heroine. Look at what happened to Parineeti she was fresh, vivacious with bundles of energy but she lost herself along the way. The pressure to do hot photoshoots and mindless item numbers can become a recipe for depression, anxiety if it doesn't come naturally to you. Your essentially living a lie and not being authentic to your true self. Even Ananya started her debut by locking lips with Tiger who is a decade older than her and wearing bra blouses.

The sexualising begins from a young age which Karan Johar and Dharma are trying to their nepo kid stars. She cant be doing the same kiddish roles the natural progression would be to essay mature roles or something sexy or glamorous to give her an image makeover. Maybe she's not ready for that. The girl who played Anjali in KKHH (sana saeed) has completely sexualised herself despite being a Muslim. One just needs to take a look at her IG. It's sad really that to attain success the clothes come off. Not everyone wants to live like that. Zaira has a right to live her truth and if this decision gives her peace then people do need to back off and stop questioning her intentions.

If calling her out on these kinds of chindi giri where she is slyly shaming calling other girls in the name of religion means I am Islamophobic, than yes call me that, no regrets. MCP ka tag mil hi gaya hai, ek aur Islamphobic ke tag se kuch farak nahi padhna.

What about sociopath, psycho, racist, and just plain evil. Youā€™ll have to work harder to get these tags šŸ˜†

Is it really funny that I've a problem with people attacking Raveena? People are attacking her for calling Zara's decisions regressive....ok that's her subjective opinion. But then in turn they're attacking Raveena by s l u t shaming her.....and that's ok with you???

heyhey dont talk about hypocrisy...So its hypocritical of Raveena to call something regressive but its oh so progressive of y'all to attack her by bringing in some sexy songs of her?? Do you even see what you're saying here?
