Varun Dhawan is being widely appreciated for his nuanced performance in October. Varun has touched the audience's hearts with his portrayal of Dan in the film. Directed by Shoojit Sircar, the film also stars debutante Banita Sandhu.
Talking about film's success, Varun told a leading daily, ''This film was always beyond numbers and the love it has got from people is tremendous. People have connected and are feeling proud that such films are made in India. So, that feels good that I'm a part of this cinema as well.''
Varun's fan following has increased after his terrific performance in October. ''A new set of people, who probably never acknowledged my work until now, are calling me. I don't know what I've done, but they are like, ''You are really brave with the choices you are making, it's so cool the way you're doing this, you're down the right path and you need to be an actor also.''
On being compared with other actors such as Ranveer Singh, Arjun Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor, Varun said, ''I've no time for competition. I'm busy with films back-to-back, so there's no time to think about what someone else is doing. I was promoting October while I was shooting for Sui Dhaaga (in Delhi). And I've already announced my next (with Remo D'Souza).''
''If it's about contemporaries, yes, it's all a very healthy competition. It was so inspiring when I saw Ranveer Singh in Padmaavat. So, I don't feel there's any race here. It's too much effort, I feel. Actors are supposed to glide. ''
