R we really comparing actors to doctors? Leave aside some horrible cases medical line is the most respected. They save lives of people whereas actors r considered cheap by majority. They have no respect in society. Just my two cents

@hum2 u want to know which doctor is more popular and respected than Ranbir or Katrina?
Look up Dr. Devi Shetty, Dr. Ramakant Panda, Dr. Cherian. All winners of numerous National Awards. All cardiac surgeons in India. There are many more in numerous other fields. Will read up n tell u soon about them too.
Just coz u r not interested in them, doesn't mean they are not famous. They hold a lot more respect for their achievements than Ranbir or Katrina or Deepika in my heart at least.

Let the girl go wherever she wants. The last thing we need is being treated by a doctor who resents their job. But yes I wish she didn't waste that seat that too a government seat, so many poor children with great intelligence who had to leave their passion because they couldn't get a seat in a government institution and couldn't afford a private college whereas people who do get are still not sure what to do with it. Someone once told me u don't always fail because u r not good, sometimes u fail because there are too many people and very little resources. These are the times when it makes sense.

Not comparing. Just that it is not fair to say one is superior than the other. They all serve different purposes in the world. It is best not to attach honor or reputation to a career. If there is a career it means there is a demand for it. Cheap or not. We are watching these "cheap" actors! If they have no respect then people should not watch films. No profession is superior. This is a Bollywood forum yet we are like Oh don't come to BW then what are we all doing here? 😆 I know what you mean how society judges careers...we saw 3Idiots I thought we made a leap there! 😆

I hope that she figures out what she wants to do in life. It is always a challenge. The lure of fashion & fame is always enticing. But if she loves medicine she will go back to it although I feel anyone who signs up for a beauty pageant is not into her line of study!

Edit: I am a teacher by profession yet here I am in this forum! I like teaching. I feel I am contributing to the society in shaping the future. But I also love the movies. I love being on sets (I have had the opportunity to be on some thanks to my parents line of work) and I love the whole creative process. It seems so much fun. It's just that it is such a risky profession. It is not for everyone! Sigh.

Doctors are more respected in society than Actors, at least in India.
Indians do hero worship actors , but at the same time they think acting is a job for low iq slackers with good looks.
Honestly, I don't think Chillar will be able to make it big in BW.
I'm honestly finding her too bland.
TBH, My parents would have killed me if I wanted to leave my medical studies to play a flowerpot in Bolly.

I told ya all... Bollywood will engulf her.

Khans and Kumar are already getting ready. They need new arm candy.

I don't think we should just assume or predict that if she does try a career in bollywood she would end up as a flowerpot or merely an eye candy.

I want DOCTORS who treats and saves patient's life and knows exactly what they are doing. Being a doctor is serious business, don't do it for the name or money. If you want money and fame, go after Bollywood. I don't see the spark and shine PC or Aish had in their early days in her. You have to have a charm kind of spark to be popular in glam world

Hey RE! I hope you're doing well. :)

I can't speak for others, but here's my view. I'm not trying to belittle movie stars and praise doctors. Both professions are opposite ends of each others, but are both are professions that give you $$$. Also I'm only talking about Manushi in particular. No one else. Now, Manushi is 20 I believe and has already put her foot in the door for seeking a medical profession. I think she's a 3rd year med student. I don't know how the education system works in India for someone who pursues this path. But here in the US its a rigorous course. 4 years undergrad, 4 years grad school/med school, 3 years residency - actually all that really depends on what type of doctor you're going for. But bottom line is that it takes years and years. Now I'm not putting down the other profession (a profession in the entertainment industry). But my point is clearly her interest has been in medicine and she loves helping people. So why change course for Bollywood? She's doing so well in helping the society and she seems to love what she is doing. And she is doing what she is so passionate about. So in regards to that, I would hate for her to leave all of that behind to join Bollywood. She probably has worked her ass off to be where she is now. Both professions will give her the $$$ to survive... there's no question about that. But anyways, at the end of the day it is what she wants to do. I'd just be sad if she chose to quit her medical line to go into Bollywood. Just my personal opinion.

On a side note, none of the former beauty queens have really succeeded much in Bollywood. The closest to succeed would be Aishwarya. But Lara, Dia, Sushmita, etc have not had the best bollywood careers. That doesn't mean Manushi can't break the trend. But just saying...

Also this is just my personal opinion. I don't think we should belittle either profession.

Let her decide what she wants to become, doctor or actor. Ppl should be able to pursue a job they are passionate about n I think there are already enough doctors in the world who hate their job lol
