After his initial staggering success, he just couldn't handle it. I remember reading his interview where he mentioned about his spat with Adi chopra where Adi told him that he did see a potential like srk in him but the problem is that vo already thinks he's srk. That sums up his journey. He didn't get proper guidance from his father too about the ways of the industry unlike HR whose father tutored and mentored him thoroughly.

it was a different time i guess ... now days all the young actors make aggressive remarks towards the contemporaries ... all fights/ affairs are reported as "blinds"

... but back then talking to the media about imp stuff was no-no ... look at srk-salman fight - half the industry was there, yet no one till date knows for sure what the reason for it was ... now days ofcourse its more khullam khulla ... even then i don't think everyone can pull off what kangana managed ...

plus the industry ppl are largely bullies ... and vivek did not have enough people in his corner

I remember I had a crush on vivek in my childhood I loved his hairstyle alot😛 I feel bad for him, he ruined his own career. He shouldnt have done that press conference against salman & should have kept his affair with aish private.

Its not just the salman-aish thing. But Viveks choice of movies was also bad. He was offered Humtum with rani. If he had not rejected it he that movie would have given boost to his career and would have got better offers.

I am not familiar with this case much but lets say if it was reported to police then why did police not take action? when system can go after him for other cases then why was he let go here? n please do not tell me that he is rich and has connections. Sanjay dutt did end up in jail.

my guess is those calls were more of devdas confessing his love with botal of whisky in left hand and those brick cellphones on the right hand lol. Aish the chalak lomdi exaggerated it to incite this new clown vivek and used him as tissue paper

This is why my analysis is that Aish is the evil one here. She like PC was about fame, money and in that she used Salman and then vivek to remain relevant to give her chance of being happening in movie industry (she was otherwise) but when it came time to settle down she picked lallo abhishek to get name of Bachan

its common sense...its logic

lol

Biggest evidence of Aish being chalak lomdi. Fine salman was bad and he mistreated you and he was wrong and you were right. BUT why did you ditch/back stab Vivek? What did he do? lol

Vivek has still not complained to police about Salman

TNN | Apr 2, 2003, 11.36 PM IST

MUMBAI: Actor Vivek Oberoi failed to lodge a police complaint one day after he publicly alleged on Tuesday that fellow star Salman Khan had threatened life.

An officer from Juhu police station said on Wednesday that no complaint had been filed against Salman. "Vivek has made these allegations to the media,'' the officer said. "We cannot take cognisance of such allegations. He has to give us the complaint in writing.''

On Tuesday,Oberoi told reporters that he would lodge a complaint and initiate legal action against Khan. But people close to Oberoi said that his father, Suresh Oberoi, had prevailed upon the actor not to approach the police. The senior Oberoi apparently wants the matter to be resolved amicably, it is learnt.

However, Suresh Oberoi told TNN that his son would not have called the media if he had not been questioned about his tiff with Khan at the Coca-Cola press conference on Tuesday morning.

"Vivek did not want to use the Coke platform to answer this query, so he called mediapersons later to clarify his stand,'' he said.

The film industry, though unwilling to go on record, is supportive of Oberoi. "Salman is losing sympathy in the industry because of his temperamental nature,'' said an industry insider.

People in the industry lauded the fact that someone has finally dared to speak out against Khan's alleged misbehaviour. Still, "many feel that Vivek should not have approached the media'', said a producer. "Instead, he should have lodged a police complaint and let the law take its own course.''

Many industrywallahs also backed Oberoi's public statement about Khan needing psychiatric treatment. "People have been talking about it for years now, but finally someone has dared to say it openly,'' said a director, on condition of anonymity.

He said that instead of taking it as an insult, Khan's family should take it as 'positive criticism' and do something about it. Film industry sources point out that Khan's career is currently at a low.

He has not had a major hits since 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam' four years ago. The actor is currently working in three films with relatively unknown producers. The brightest spot in his career appears to be his lead role in a Hollywood production 'Marigold'.

Although Oberoi has not lodged a police complaint, senior criminal law counsel P.R. Vakil said that threatening to kill somebody amounts to criminal intimidation, which is a serious cognisable and non-bailable offence under the Indian Penal Code.

This is punishable with up to seven years imprisonment. "Even if Vivek does not file a police complaint, the police are empowered suo motu to inquire into the matter and can even call Salman for interrogation,''Mr Vakil said.

We are talking about 2 different interviews.

The one I mentioned was pretty old. Farah used to host a show on TV. Vivek came as guest, alone. And at that time.. Aish wasn't married to AB Jr.

Farah clearly sided with Salman saying.. Salman has never asked her to not cast Vivek. So Salman hasn't sabotaged his career.

Farah literally cornered Vivek but not for once she mentions that.. 41 threatening calls are wrong. Actually nobody did. That's why I said.. Industry is a loose canon place. Yeh lof galat ko galat nahi kahenge.

Vivek mentioned in a talk show with Farah, that after conference, some industry insiders advised him to not file a complain. His Dad said so too.

And when Farah asked him why he decided to call for conference, He said -- Kisi ne 'Rai' di thi. Putting extra emphasis on Rai. And Farah laughed saying.. nice word play.

He confessed that he didn't even talk to his Dad before calling that conference. He said.. he felt bad that usne apne dad ki reputation bigad di industry mein.

So yeah.. Vivek was naive and stupid. Logo ki advise me pair pe kulhadi maar di. Anyway he gets big for his shoes pretty easily. Aish ka bf banke.. dimag satve aasman par. And his movies were working then. Acted like a fool.

His arrogance.
Sallu factor might have played some role in perception but he was busy burning bridges with many people like Adi Chopra, Rani and many more. Some of his statements were OTT and his movies started to flop. Unlike others who manage to hang around after flops, nobody was there to put money on Vivek during his downslide maybe coz of Sallu.
Personally I feel his subsequent apologies and nautanki to get Sallu's approval was far more embarrassing. He got that role in Krish movie and he went on making obnoxious statements ..when you become a joke to audience you are over.
