I think it was her own decision to not work post Swades.

Infact i remember reading that she didnt want to do it, but Ashutosh Gowariker pursued her for that role, dont know true this is though.

She was already in a relationship with Vikas Oberoi, and they were strictly against her doing bold things on-screen i guess.

Gayatri Joshi couldn't work coz she was GF of a very powerful builder from Oberoi group.
Rumor is that despite being attached to a powerful man, she had to please Ashu Gowarikar for getting the role . Perhaps she couldn't compromise more for a career in BW and took exit, married and now happily enjoying life.
She was talented and if Swades was a hit movie , she could still have a career without compromise. But BO fate sealed that door for her.

She was very beautiful and had great chemistry with SRK.

I think she didnt do anymore movies because she got married and also she didnt have the ambition to be a top actress.

Even Gracie Singh faded out after doing such blockbusters like Lagaan, Munna Bhai...because she didnt compromise for roles

Its a pity Swades didnt click back then, if it had released now it would have been a superhit because of the patriotism factor.

Honestly I watch SRK the most in all his movies. 😳😆. But I do remember the heroine if they are memorable. Kajol, Rani,Madz, Juhi, DP, Anu, Ash, PC. Heck I even remember Kareena and Kat though I hated them with him. These actresses were memorable to me because they shared screen space with him and not just let him dominate. Shah is generous with sharing screen space with heroines than most heros. But you must stand on your own for it to memorable for me. I just can't remember even her face.

But if you see their careers, Takia managed to do better in future than Gayatri.

Asin won all debut awards, Ash won only 1 and lost all debut awards, Twinkle won all debut awards.

So awards don't tell anything about future😆

Gayatri left Bollywood so who knows how she would have done had she stayed

Anushka lost her debut award to Asin but see where Asin is now and where Anushka is
