Gulshan Grover wants to play Mogambo
16th Oct 2006
The proverbial 'badman' of Bollywood wants to play the role immortalized by the late Amrish Puri .
Nearly two decades after the release of the superhit movie Mr. India , Anil Kapoor , its main star, is planning to make the film's sequel. There is a strong chance that Sri Devi will team up with him for the movie.
Just as Ram Gopal Varma Ki Sholay is creating more buzz because of Gabbar Singh than its heroes, so does the big question loom as to who will play the towering megalomaniac Mogambo in 'Mr. India 2'.
Gulshan Grover is showing keen interest in playing the coveted role. And grapevine has it that Boney Kapoor (Anil's elder brother who wrote and produced 'Mr. India') is thinking of Grover as a suitable choice for Mogambo's role. However, things have not been finalized yet.
Grover is quite confident in his assertion: "No one but me can play Mogambo in the sequel."
Grover says he has a very friendly relation with Anil, Boney and Sri Devi. He is very optimistic about clinching the role.
Meanwhile, the film might also star Ranbir Kapoor (Rishi Kapoor's son) and Sonam Kapoor (Anil's daughter).
'Mr. India 2' will be written by Boney Kapoor and directed by Nikhil Advani .
