Patralekhaa confesses to being head over heels in love with her Citylights co-star.
For the past week, rumours have been flying thick and fast that Patralekhaa, Rajkummar Rao's reel life wife in Hansal Mehta's next, Citylights, is his real life love too.
A source from the unit of Abhishek Dogra's Dolly Ki Doli told Mirror on Monday that Patralekha had flown to be with Rao in Nasik when they were shooting for the film. The time was right to call up Patralekha who has been in news for a less romantic reason too. (see bolow)
Surprisingly, she was in the mood to talk about her boyfriend when we called her yesterday afternoon.
"Yes, I am dating Rajkummar. We are in a steady relationship. Almost every 24-year old is dating today. He is 28-years old and I am 24. At our age, it is natural for one to be in a relationship. Am I doing anything wrong?" she began.
Though the two have managed to keep their affair under wraps, Mirror has it that they have been dating since even before the actor's debut in the 2010 film Love Sex Aur Dhokha. "Actually I know him from his FTII days. I met him when I had gone to the acting institute in Pune for some work," admitted the commercial arts student.
Patralekha whose real name is reportedly Anwita says that though Citylights is her first film, she has many acting classes under her belt.
She plays Rao's wife in the film, a character who is forced by circumstances and poverty to take up a job as a bar dancer. While Hansal was looking for a female lead, Patralekha's name cropped up. Did Rajkummar recommend her to Hansal with whom he shares a wonderful equation?
"No way. We are in love, but that doesn't mean that Hansal would cast me in his very next film after Shahid. Hansal and Rajkummar do not work that way. I was chosen for Citylights only after undergoing the auditions," she says emphatically.
Buzz is, the couple plan to get engaged in the near future. Is that true? The actress replied with a loud, "No" and insisted that they arent even in a live-in relationship.
"We both stay in Andheri but I stay in Oshiwara and he stays in Seven Bungalows," she explained before saying, "Shouldn't we be talking about Citylights now and discuss my relationship with Rajkummar after the film hits the theatres?"

There are whispers that the head honcho of a talent management company demanded that Patralekhaa wear a short skirt to their meeting. The horrified actress promptly narrated the incident to boyfriend Rajkummar Rao. He then wasted no time in dialling the culprit and giving him a piece of his mind.
Patralekha meanwhile denies the rumours. "Somebody is out to malign somebody's reputation. Good you asked me this. You are the second person since morning who has enquired about it. I want to clarify that nobody has asked me to don a short skirt and meet him. If it had happened, I would have come out and spoken about it. In fact, the man in question is my family friend. His mother and mine have been friends for a long time," she asserted
"I have not spoken to any talent management company. Yeah, I might enrol with one soon though," she concluded.
