"As per the back-of-the-envelope calculations, around Rs. 250 crore are riding on Sanjay, involved in various projects. These projects include big ticket upcoming movies P.K., Policegiri, Zanjeer, Ungli among others," a source revealed.

Among the upcoming projects involving the 53-year-old actor is 'Ungli', produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions, also starring Emraan Hashmi and Neha Dhupia.

When contacted, a top source at Dharma Productions said, "Bollywood is distraught over the SC judgement. He, however, refused to share the amount of money at stake on Sanjay in the project.

Really? The industry is more worried abt the 250 crore riding on him. Bunch of losers.

If he ends up in jail, he will be out in 3 years. The pain, the suffering, the trauma the victims and the families are going thru is permanent... Kids were orphaned, earning family members were killed... The damage to the victims and the families affected is irreparable.

Sanjay Dutt's jail sentence: Rs 250 crore is riding on the actor

TNN | Mar 22, 2013, 12.00 AM IST

Sanju had just woken up from a disturbed sleep when the news broke

Over the last 20 years, the spectre of the 1993 serial blasts never once left actor Sanjay Dutt. Forever conscious of the carnage wherever he was — at his Pali Hill residence or behind bars (Arthur Road, then at Yerwada in Pune), he silently cursed himself for being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

When the Supreme Court verdict came on the morning of March 21, Sanju was declared guilty for possession of arms. He was given a reduced sentence of five years' imprisonment.

The actor, who received the news at his Imperial Heights residence, was stoic. Sources say he had just woken up from a "disturbed sleep". The verdict apart, he truly believes he is innocent.

Talking to TOI a few days ago, he mentioned the reason why he wanted his older daughter Trishala to study forensic science is because he wanted her to help hapless victims who may find themselves on the wrong side of the law and who may be penalised, even before their guilt is proven.

Money riding on the actor
An estimated amount of 250 crore is riding on actor Sanjay Dutt who has been sentenced to five-years of imprisonment in the final verdict in the 1993 serial bomb blast case. The actor was shooting for Policegiri at Film City in Mumbai until Wednesday.
