She got Shah Rukh and Salman Khan under one roof at her sangeet. But no, they didn't meet and greet, they didn't even look at each another
Amrita Arora's sangeet at a Juhu nightspot on Thursday night saw a multitude of stars trooping in. However, the biggest surprise for everyone present was Shah Rukh Khan and wife Gauri in what is essentially Salman Khan's home turf.
dost, dost na raha: While Salman Khan gave his brothers company in the bar outside, Shah Rukh Khan entered with wife Gauri and Suzanne Roshan and stayed at the bar inside.
Said an eyewitness, "Many people thought Shah Rukh wouldn't attend Amu's sangeet. Everyone was surprised when Gauri and he walked in around midnight."
The eyewitness added that they watched the sangeet performances on stage and Shah Rukh then headed for the bar inside where he hung around with his gang of friends, including Karan Johar.
"Shah Rukh left after half an hour, while Gauri stayed back with her pals Kaajal Anand, Bhavna Pandey and Seema Khan," said the eyewitness.
No hellos
Salman had come in before Shah Rukh and had parked himself at the outside bar with brothers Sohail and Arbaaz and best bud Sajid Nadiadwala.
According to a source, "Salman was to attend only Amu's wedding, as he was shooting in Jaipur. But Malaika persuaded him to stay back for the sangeet."
Needless to say, their paths didn't cross. There were rumours that SRK and Sallu patched up, but "Salman is still very angry with Shah Rukh and is definitely in no mood to patch up.
The hostility between SRK and Salman hasn't died down though SRK is more cordial", said the source.
At the sangeet...
l Sajid Khan was the anchor with an impromptu script (as he didn't know who'd show up) and opened the ceremony with "At last Amu is getting married!" That was followed by Arbaaz Khan and designer Rick Roy dancing on Ring, ring, ringa from Slumdog Millionaire. Sajid called it "sexual atyachaar".
l Amrita's make-up artiste and friend Mallika Bhatt danced to Kajra Re and they were joined by Saif Ali Khan and Boney Kapoor's son, Arjun.
l Then Sajid introduced Malaika, Wardha Nadiadwala, Prita and Arpita Khan who danced to Amrita's hit numbers (Sajid called it Amu's movies which were badly hit), including Dilli ki sardi.
l One of the best numbers was Disco 82 put together by Amrita's parents Joyce and Anil. Sajid said after the performance, "They dance better than Malaika and Amu put together!"
l Saif and Kareena performed to Tha karke from Golmaal Returns.
l Twinkle and Saif were seen bonding, with Twinkle teasing him about the coloured glasses he wore to the party.
l Salman left the party in an autorickshaw, while girlfriend Katrina stayed back. Even when they were there, they stayed away from each other.
l Former flames Dino Morea and Nandita Mahtani were seen chatting away, while Lara spoke with her friends.
