Blended family storyline with Samar

Remember how Samar loved Anuj more than V and was a good son of Maa. He also saw Anuj as his father instead of V and might have seen himself as son of Anuj(not for money, only for Anuj). Imagine the woman he is marrying demands the guy he sees as a father figure to be HER father figure. Gross. Plus he abandoned his mom like her first husband. He expected this guy to be better but he had hurt both.

So, when he brought an adopted daughter with his mom, Samar would have felt replaced and sidelined like a normal sibling would. The father figure clearly cared for her more and mother was neglecting him even more than she neglected the adopted child. Not only Shahs but also Maan took him for granted till the end. Unlike Crinjal, he was never dependent on Maa for useless stuff and pretended to care for her for selfish reasons and free maid services. He truly wanted best for Maan till the end. Plus he was way better than other 2. Aadhya has also grown up to be a lot like him, much more than his own son.

The storyline addressing Samar's insecurities about CA and care for Anuj would have been better than Maya storyline. It could have paved the way of Samar living with Kapadias and helping them like an adopted son. Maan,CA and Samar could have been a blended family. If they truly redeemed Pakhi, they could have added her to the mix. Instead of adopting Kapadia surname, Samar shows Maan the mirror and helps them detach from abusive Shahs. He himself adopts name Samar Joshi. Plus he did sacrifice his life for Anuj in OG storyline. Anupamaa herself should have become Joshi-Kapadia instead of just Kapadia.

I think we should now realize that storylines of this show are not based on intelligent writing. Instead they are written around which actors are producer's favourites, followed by which actors are so jobless that they will accept whatever script is handed to them that demeans their track to elevate the track of the favorite actors.

The show had potential to go in numerous good directions in terms of family relationships, late careers, feminism, and even if they wanted to do a typical Mills and Boons hero or a manic pixie dream girl heroine trope, there were many nice ways to do those.

But the pattern is, introduce a story based on a popular topic, then escalate things for drama where everyone can be a potential villain except one person, and then the "one person" saves the day by shoving the topic under the rug and immediately moving on to the next topic.

There is no scope left for any intelligent storytelling anymore.

I agree with whatever you said the thing is I feel Anupamaa herself didn't love Samar as much as she loves T & P.She never stood up for him while he was abused by his father, left him when he needed her during his marriage, claimed his dance academy when she separated from Anuj conveniently ignoring the fact that it was more of Samar's DA now than hers,so expecting that useless Anuj to care for Samar is foolish when his own mother did all this to him

And let's be honest Anuj never considered Anupamaa's kids as his own including Samar. With T&P I understand because they too didn't love him plus Vanraj didn't want him to show any affection towards his kids as a "father",but even if he wouldn't have told this to Anuj I feel he still wouldn't love Samar as his son like he loves CA,simply because he always dreamt of a completely separate family for himself with only CA,Anupamaa &himself .

Guy didn't even contact Dimpy once in these 5 years when Samar gave his life for him,but Anupama too didn't being his mother so what is the point of being upset with a stranger when your mother doesn't care enough for you.

This 5 year leap and the "jogan" act are a COMPLETE joke and so is the claim of "Bachchon ki khatir Shah House jaati thi, woh bhi roz".

Anupama's character did not value, love or care for people who actually loved, cared for her. Be it Kanta, Bhavesh, Samar, Anuj, Choti Anu, Devika (this is arguable). They were just a means to the end for her. Nothing more.
