CHAPTER - 4

[ Vijaygarh ]

At Vijaygarh,there was a mosque which was very famous and many people used to come there for prayers and that mosque was open for all people irrespective of their religion.In that mosque,there was an old peer baba,who was very religious and a great devotee.He used to treat certain illness which are distant from a physician's hand and was a kind of exorcist also.The peer baba often used to sit under the big banyan tree and pray to God with his beads in his hands and many people come to him to seek his blessings.Once the peer baba was sitting under the tree and was praying to God,when some people,who were passing by,stopped there and sat in front of him on the ground.The peer baba opened his eyes and smiled on seeing them and asked,"Tum log yaha kya kar rahe ho?"One of the men said,"Baba yo churail ka qahar to waapas se shuru ho gayo hai.Itne dino tak to vo saant thi par vo sehri babu jabse jungle mein gaye,unhe maarne ke baad se to vo humpar ghano naraaj ho gayi hai.Kal hamaare chorey gaay charaane gaye aur phir pata nehi ke hoyo chorey per ke neeche beth kar araam kar rahe the ke vo gaay ghaas khaate khaate jungle ke taraf chale gaye.Vo saare chrey dar ke mare jungle ke bheetar nag aye aur soche ke gaay apne aap aa jaavegi par vo gaay na lauti aur maara chora baaki choro ke sang dar ke bhaag aaya aur jab hum dhundhne gaye to waha ek gaay mari pari thi aur usko to churail ne thora bohot kha bhi liya.Vaise to sab sooraj doobne ke baad se hi sab apne apne gharo mein bth kar khidki darwaje bandh kar leve hai par ab to athe din mein bhi nikalna ghano muskil ho jaave.Ab hum to kaam kaaji aadmi hai,roji roti ka sawaal hai,aise to din bhar ghar ke andar beth sakey koni.Aap hi batao hum ke kare?"All the man looked at each other and then joined their hands in front of the peer baba and the peer baba in turn looked towards the sky and said,"Sab us allah ki marzi hai beta,ye aatma bhi usike khel ka ek hissa hai.Ye bhatakti rooh ko tabtak chain nehi milega jabtak ke ye apna badla nehi le leti.Vo mahal..."He pointed at the palace which can be viewed even from a great distance and said,"Vo mahal na jaane apne andar kitne kitne raaz dafnaaye huye hai ke aaj bhi uski daraare pari deewarein,uski kamzor chat us berehem raat ki kahaani ke gavaah hai.Us mahal ka har ek kone mein aaj bhi ek masoom ki cheekhein gunjti hai.Gunaah karne waalo ko kabhi asaani se apne gunaaho se chutkaara nehi milta hai,is Vijaygarh ko bhi nehi milega.Apne purkho ke kiye gaye gunaaho ki bharpaayi is khaandaan ke har shaks ko karni paregi,kabhi apna sab kuch gawaakar,kabhi apni jaan dekar."All the men were terrified hearing such things and another one of them said,"Par baba hamaare bachche hai aur koi ma baap ye na chaave hai ke unke bachcho ki jindagi mein bhi hamesha khatre ki talwaar yu latakti reve.Ab aap hi baba hamaari aakhri ummeed ho,ab aap hi kuch na kuch kar sako ho.Aapko to aise churailo se nipatna bohot achche se aave hai,aapne aise bohot se aatmao se gaao ko bachaya bhi hai,to is aatma se aap hi hume bacha sakte hau."The peer baba looked at him and then laughed out loud and said,"Main to parvardigaar ka ek maamuli sa ghulam hu,vo jaisa mujhe hukm deta hai,main bas vaisa hi karta chala jaata hu.Jin ruho ke qaid se maine logo ko azaad kiya vo to maamuli rooh thi par ye rooh maamuli nehi hai,ye rooh bohot zyaada zakhmi hai,ispar itne zulm huye hai jis vajah se ye bohot zyaada taaqatvar ban gayi hai.Ye rooh badle ki,khoon ki pyaasi hai aur allah ne mujhe is rooh ka muqaabla karne ki ijaazat nehi di hai.Par allah ne jab ye musibat sabke sar madi hai to ilaaj bhi vohi nikaalenge.Jab bhi uske sachche bande taklif mein huye hai,tab hamesha us allah ne ek nek bande ko maseeha banakar bheja hai ke vo uske bando ki hifaazat kar sakey.Jab sahi waqt aayega,vo maseeha bhi zarur aayega,usey aana hi parega kyuki wahi uski taqdeer hai."The man,with a hopeful eyes asked,"Vo kab aayega?"The peer baba replied,"Apne bhagwaan se dua karo,kya pata vo achaanak se tumhaare saamne aa jaaye."Saying he again closed his eyes and started chanting on his beads and the people took his blessings and left from there.

Akash,on the other side was extremely tired while walking alone on the road and was resting sitting on the road under a tree as it was extremely hot.He said,"Yaar!!Agar mujhe pehle pata hota to main kabhi yaha nehi aata yaar.Excitement ke chakkar mein apni kabr khudwaali tune Akash beta.Ab mujhse ek aur kadam bhi nehi chala jaayega.Isse to achcha main terrorist pakar leta kasam se ye kaam usse asaan hai."He was feeling like he will die the moment he takes another step forward and was praying to God to help him.Its said that when we want something desperately and with all your heart,God answers your prayer and so he he did that in Akash's time too.A man with a bullock cart was passing through the street towards his home and on seeing Akash,he calld her and Akash looked at him.Akash was so happy to see the manas if he was like a mirage for him in the desert that he almost crawled towards his cart and the man asked,"Ke huo bhaiji athe kyu bethe ho?Ghani dhup ho rakkhi hai abhi.Vijaygarh jaana hai ke aapko?"Akash almost bagged to the man and said,"Ha mujhe Vijaygarh jaana hai,par jo gaari mujhe yaha chorne aayi thi,usne Vijaygarh ke seema ke bahaar hi mujhe chor diya,kehte hai ke vo andar nehi jaayenge isiliye yahi betha hu mujhse aur chala nehi ja raha hai."Akash deliberately lied so that the man gives him lift and the man said,"Main samajh saku hu unhone aisa kyu kiya.Aap ek kaam karo bhaiji,aap athe maari belgaari mein aao jaao.Main bhi Vijaygarh ka hi rehne waala hu,main aapko chor dunga.Aao aao betho dhup utarne waali hai aur jald hi sooraj bhi dhal javega,uske baad ghar se bahaar nikalno mein ghano khatra hai."Akash,didn't waste a single second and got up on the cart with bag and baggages.The cart started moving and Akash took an oath that he will not utter a single word about the ghost as he had bore its consequence once and that cost was enough for that day.On the way,the man asked,"Yaha ke karne aaye ho bhaiji?"Akash thought about a perfect excuse and even decided not to mention even his wrong identity,the identity of a TV reporter.So he said,"Vo main,yaha ghumne aaya hu...Yaha ek guest house hai na wahi thehrunga."The man replied,"Oh achchi baat hai!!Vaise aapko pata hai usi mehmaan khaane mein ek aadmi rehne aayo tho seher se,kuch dino pehle uski maut ho gayi.Tabse yaha seher se log aane ghano kam ho gaye hai.Aap bhi yaha jyaada din mat rehna,varna aapki jaan ko bhi khatro ho jaavego."Akash replied,"Ha para maine akhbaar mein,par main tu yaha sirf ghumne hi aaya hu aur mujhe gaao,khet khaliyaar dekhna bara achcha lagta hai.Suna hai yaha ek mahal bhi hai."The man immediately replied,"Na na bhaiji aap na us mahal,ya uske paas waale jungle se na koso dur rehna.Vo mahal hai na..."The man stopped abruptly and chanted God's name and seeing that Akash curiously asked,"Vo mahal kya?"The man looked here and there with scared expressions and said,"Bhaiji is baare mein baat tak karna hume mana hai,par aap naye naye aaye ho,aapko saavdhaan karno maaro jimmedaari hai.Vo mahal hai na...bhutiya hai aur us jungle mein churail reve hai."Akash deliberately replied,"Ye sab bhoot,prt,churail,main in sabko nehi manta."The man replied,"Aap sehri babu kabhi na maanoge,manna pata hai par je koi maamuli churail na hai,sadiyo se bhatak rahi hai je yahape,bari taaqatwaali hai,kisiko na chorti hai,us sehri babu ko bhi usine maara hai kyuki vow aha mahal mein jaane ki kosis kar rahe the aur jungle mein bhi par aap waha na jaana,dur se hi bas dekh lena."Akash said to himself,"Mmm iska matlab hai ke ye jo churail waali kahaani hai,vo bari puraani hai aur koi ya phir koi gang is kahaani ka pura pura faayda utha raha hai.Iam sure us jungle ke andar koi na koi illegal kaam ho raha hai aur us scholar ne unhe dekh liya tha tabhi usko raaste se hatwa diya.Hmmm!!Interesting!!"Akash lied down on the cart and closed his eyes while the man started singing a local song.

[ London ]

Ananya was working in her laptop with full concrentration,when she suddenly received a message on her phone.In that message,she was instructed to open her laptop and put on skype.She did that and found Natasha online.She started on the conversation :-

N :- "Hi Ananya!!Oops Yuvraani Ananya kaisi hai aap?Aap to hume bhul hi gayi."

A :- "Natasha aisa kuch bhi nehi hai you know that so please ye drama bandh kardo.Hum to kabhi nehi bhule hai."

N :- "Bhul to bilkul gayi ho tum hume,varna humne tumhe itne phone kiye aur tumne ek baar bhi call back nehi kiya aur hum is vajah se bohot naraaz hai."

A :- "Achcha rajkumaari ji hum kaan pakarte hai aur tumne bhi to shaadi karne ka faisla kiya aur hamaare hone waale jijusa se hume milwaya tak nehi kamsekam ek photo hi bhej deti."

N :- "Thik hai hum bhej denge par tumhe yaad rakhna hamaara aur Rohit ka joda tumhe hi design karna hai aur hume ek aur baat karni hai tumse...I hope tum gussa nehi karogi."

Ananya somehow guessed the matter by her gestures.

A :- "Hum jaante hai Natasha tum kya kehna chahti ho,par hum tumhe pehle hi keh de ye nehi ho sakta.Shaadi rajmahal mein nehi hogi.Jaanti ho na mahal ka itihaas.Pata hai na uske vajah se puri riyaasat khatam ho gayi.Hamaare pardadusa ke zamaane se hum waha nehi rehte hai,varna apna ghar,apni riyasat,apna mahal,apna desh chorkar hum yaha pardes mein nehi rehte.Hamaari maasa in sab cheezo par bharosa nehi karti thi aur unke zidd ke vajah se papa gaye the unhe lene aur wahi hamaara janam hua aur dekho hamaari maasa guzar gayi."

N :- "Ananya vo ek ateet tha,ek baar jo hua,zaruri nehi hai ke vo hamesha ho.Tumhaara to phir bhi janam waha hua hai,humne to aajtak mahal ki sirf tasveer dekhi hai.Isi bahaane hum hamaara ghar dekhna chahte hai Ananya."

A :- "Hum samajhte hai tumhaare emotions Natasha aur yakeen maano hume koi khushi nehi ho rahi hai.Tumhaari shaadi tumhaare apne ghar se hogi isse zyaada khushi ki baat aur kya ho sakti hai hamaare liye par hum aisa nehi kar sakte hai.Vo mahal shraapit hai aur us shraap ne hamaari maasa ko nigal liya ab hum apne parivaar waalo mein se kisiko nehi khona chahte hai."

N :- "Ananya hum beenti kar rahe hai tumse.Shaadi mein hume tumse koi aur cheez nehi chahiye,bas tum hume ye taufa dedo,please maan jaao mahal mein shaadi ke liye.Tausa bhi raazi hai par tumhaari marzi ke khilaaf jaana nehi chahte hai bas."

Natasha pleased Ananya for several times and then her resolution started weakening and so she decided to think over the matter.

A :- "Thik hai hum waada nehi karte hai,hume sochenge is baare mein aur apna faisla hum bata denge tumhe."

N :- "Thik hai hamaare liye itna hi kaafi hai.Ok bye baad mein baat karte hai."

Ananya put off her laptop and was just sitting on her bed half lying and closing her eyes,when Uday came in her room with a tray in which there was a dish and from it smoke was coming and he was in a cook's attire.Ananya was shocked on seeing her father like that and asked,"Papa aap aur aise?"Uday put the tray on the bed and sat in front of her and Parvati too came behind him to her room and Ananya asked,"Papa ye sab kya hai?"Parvati said,"Dekh na bitiya Ranaji ne je sab ke kiyo hai?Maine kitni baar mana kiya par na je to maari baat sunte hi na hai.Maine kitni mana kiyo ke main bana dungi par inhone maari ek baat na suni."Uday said to Ananya,"Dekhiye humne aapke liye aapki favourate aloo puri banaayi hai.Ha shaayad aapki ma ki jitni achchi na bani ho par humne koshish ki hai aur aapki ma hume kitchen mein hi nehi jaane dena chahti thi.Arey hum raja hai sahi hai,par hum apni laadli ke papa bhi to hai.Hamaara aaj mann kiya ke hum apni bitiya apne haatho se kuch banakar khilaaye to bas hum lag pare."Ananya looked at the dish and said,"Papa aap thakey hare office se aaye aur aane ke baad aapne itna sab kuch kiya vo bhi hamaare liye?"Uday pressed Ananya's cheeks and said,"Aapke liye nehi karenge to aur kiske liye karenge?Achcha ab ye sab choriye aur kha kar bataaiye kaisa bana hai."Ananya tasted the food and then said,"Sach mein bohot achcha bana hai papa."Just then Vijay arrived and then gave her a bowl of sweetdish and said,"Ye lijiye rajkunwariji aapke liye gaajar ka halwa.Humne banaya hai."Uday said,"Ha Vijay ne hamaari madat ki hai aapke liye khaana banaane mein."Ananya thanked her and then had the food happily.After dinner,when everyone were preparing to sleep,Uday again came to Ananya's room and she asked,"Papa aap yaha??Soyenge nehi?"He replied,"Nehi aaj hum khud apne haatho se thapthapaakar aapko sulaayenge jaise kabhi kabhi bachpan mein aapko sulaaya karte the."He started patting on her head whileshe was lying on her bed putting her head on her father's lap and said,"Papa aaj Natasha se baathui thi vo hume bohot request kar rahi thi ke hum mahal mein shaadi ke liye maan jaaye."Uday replied,"Hum bhi yehi chahte hai par hum aap par zor bhi nehi daalna chahte hai."Ananya replied,"Humne sochne ke liye thora waqt maanga hai."Uday agreed to her decision and continued patting on her head and said,"Aapne bilkul sahi kiya hai,abhi aap ye sab choriye aur so jaaiye."Ananya closed her eyes and Uday prayed to God,"Bhagwaan hamaari beti ko har buri nazar se dur rakhna.Uspar aayi har musibat pehle humse hokar guzre,bas hume aur kuch nehi chahiye."Slowly Ananya fall asleep and he put her head on the pillow and before leaving for his room,he kissed on her head.

[ Vijaygarh ]

The bullock cart reached Vijaygarh when it was almost afternoon.The peer baba was as usual sittin under the tree and was telling story to the kids and also some old men were sitting by the side and smoking.Akash came down of the cart and stretched his back,legs and hands and in a bit louder voice said,"Hayo rabba!!Saare purz dheele ho gaye mere,lagta hai kamar bhi toot jaayegi.Ae menu kaha le aaye?Mummy ne baar baar kaha tha puttar mat ja mat ja,par bandook se goli to nikal chuki thi.Sahi kehte hai yaar mummy ki baat kabhi nehi taalni chahiye.Yaar sach mein mujhe mummy ke paraathe yaad aa rahi hai,bhagwaan jaane kabhi milenge bhi ya nehi.Achcha khaasa tha apne ghar mein,nehi is khandar mein aa gaya."Akash's loud voice had reached to others who were around and of course last but not the least,the ears of peer baba too didn't miss his voice and he looked upto him with wonder and surprise.Akash took his bags and walked upto the peer baba and others who were sitting there.He put the bags on the ground and then asked them,"Kya ek glass paani milega bohot pyaas lagi hai."One of the people went to fetch a glass of water.When Akash was provided with water,he felt like he had got life and understood why water was known as life.While Akash was sitting beside the peer baba and resting,the peer baba was continuously staring at him with a smile on his face and suddenly asked,"Tu aa gaya beta?"Akash was a bit taken back when the peer baba addressed him like that and in a confused tone asked,"Ji aapne mujhse kuch kaha?"The peer baba smiled and replied,"Kayi sadiyo se Vijaygarh ko tera hi intezaar tha,yaha ke logo ko bhi tera hi intezaar tha,kyuki tu vo hai jo in sab ki mushkiley khatam karne aaya hai."All the people who were there looked at Akash in a stunned manner and Akash was boggled.He looked at all of them and realized thathis condition was no better than them and so he asked,"Aap mujhe jaante hai?Aapko pata tha main yaha aaunga?"The peer baba smiled and replied,"Tu yaha aaya nehi hai tu yaha laaya gaya hai.Teri kismat,teri niyati tujhe yaha le aayi hai.Tujhe us parvardigaar ne bheja hai,in sab logo ka maseeha banaakar.Vo dekh..."He pointed towards the jungle and the palace and Akash was really stunned to see the palace as he was desperate to see that famous palace.The peer baba continued,"Vo dekh raha hai us mahal ko,is mahal ki kismat allah ne nehi,shaitaan ne likhi hai aur allah ne tujhe bheja hai is mahal ko aur Vijaygarh ko uske chungool se bahaar nikaalne ke liye."Akash thought that the peer baba was a mad man and he was talking all rubbish and so he said,"Baba aap galti kar rahe ho,main yaha bas ghumne aaya hu aur ha ye sach hai ke mahal ke baare mein bhi thora bohot interest hai mujhe.Main ek maamuli insaan hu,aap jo sab keh rahe ho na vo main nehi hu."The peer baba laughed aloud and said,"Har maamuli insaan ke paas hi to vo hathyaar hota hai jisse vo bare se bare shaitaan ka khaatma kar sakey.Uski sachchai aur uska saaf dil.Yehi to allah ki di hui sabse bari nemat hai tujhe.Tu hi hai vo aur tujhse hi hoga ye."Akash thought not to go into any argument with that old man and asked everyone,"Kya aap mujhe vo yaha ke uh...mehmaan khaane mein jaane ka raasta bata sakte hai?"All were quite after hearing the words of the peer baba but a man immediately came to him and picked up his luggages and said,"Aao bhaiji mare saath aao,main lekar chalu hu aapko mehmaan khaane mein.Aao!!"Akash was very embarrassed when the man picked up his luggage but the man didn't listen to him and asked Akash to follow him and so Akash had to follow him upto the guest house.
