"Dulhan ko mandap mein laya jaaye" the priest said to the bride's mom.
A beautiful girl draped in a red saree was brought down the staircase by her cousins and friends. She looked heavenly with the gold and diamond jewelry she carried on herself. A veil was arranged properly on her head. All eyes in the hall were focused on the bride while her eyes were lowered down. To some it was a sign of good upbringing for a girl but for her it was a sign of nervousness, a sign maybe, of fear.
"No, I'm not scared of this marriage. Meri shaadi meri marzi se ho rahi hai. Aur mein poore yakeen ke saath keh sakti hoon ki Rey mera khayal bohot atche se rakhenge." She kept reciting in her mind.
From the time she stepped out of the room to the time she came and sat next to him, his eyes were only on her. He adored her from head to toe.
"Mein nahi jaanta ki Taani se shaadi karne ka decision meri zindagi ka best decision hai ya nahi. But mein itna jarur jaanta hoon ki yeh decision galath nahi hai." Thought Rey.
Taani was sitting next to Rey while the priest recited the mantras. Both of them were soon going to be tied together in the most beautiful relationship ever existing on this planet.
"Shaadi, har ladki ka khwaab hota hai ki uski shaadi duniya ke sabse best ladke se ho. Mera bhi tha. Mom and Dad ne na jaane kitne ladko ki tasveere dikhayi but koi pasand nahi aaya. Fir ek din kahin se Rey ne meri zindagi mein entry maari aur mera dil chura liya. Mein nahi jaanti ki mein Rey se pyaar karti hoon ya nahi aur yeh bhi nahi jaanti ki voh mujhse pyaar karte hain ya nahi, mein bas itna jaanti hoon ki mujhe Rey pe khud se jyada bharosa hai. Mein jaanti hoon ki Rey mujhe har musibbat se bacha ke rakehnge aur humesha mera saath denge. Mere liye toh yeh hi pyaar hai!"
"Shaadi equals barbaadi! Yeh meri soch hua karti thi Taani se milne se pehle. Par milne ke baad itna pata chala hai ki agar mein kisi ladki ke saath apni poori zindagi spend kar sakta hoon toh voh Taani hi hai. Uski har ek quality mujhe uski taraf attract karti hai. Mom and Dad toh shock ho gaye the jab unhe pata chala ki mein yeh shaadi ke liye ready hoon, but I knew ki Taani se better mere liye aur koi nahi ho sakti. Mein nahi jaanta ki humare beech pyaar hai ya nahi but itna pata hai ki uske saath beete lamhe ki feeling is the best feeling!"
After all the rituals were completed Rey and Taani, the newlyweds, stood up to take blessing of the elders. One by one they took everyone's blessing and soon Taani left with Rey to his, now their, house. She was welcomed into the house with celebration and after the rituals were done she was taken to their bedroom.
The bedroom was beautifully decorated for the duo. Scented candles added to the serenity of the room. She was then taken to the bed and made to sit with her veil lowered to cover her face. Rey was pacing to and fro in the living room. His cousins and friends had trapped him from going into his room.
"Zara sabr karo bhaiyya, itni bhi kya jaldi hai. Bhabhi kahin nahi bhagne wali." His cousins teased him.
"Kya pata tum sab ki arrangements dekh ke bhag jaye." Rey chuckled.
"Don't worry bhai. All exit points are locked. Jao jaake aish karo." One of his cousins said earning a glare from Rey which then turned into a faint blush.
Finally he was allowed to enter his room after paying a huge amount to his cousins. He opened the door of his room. On hearing the clicking sound, she tightly clutched her saree in her hand. She was hell nervous and not at all ready for this step further. He closed the door and locked it. He came and sat next to her. Lifting up her veil, he saw her face shining in the candle light. She didn't lift up her eyes so he made her look at him by pulling up her chin.
Her eyes spoke out all the fear she had in her to him. He smiled at her and placed a kiss on her forehead. The touch of his lips made her close her eyelids. He then made her face him and leaned a bit towards her. Placing kisses on both her eyelids he whispered "Beautiful" to her. Blood rushed up to her cheeks on hearing the compliment making them pink. He pecked her cheeks deepening their colour.
Both his hands reached her ear and he started removing her earring. She tightened the hold on her saree feeling his touch. One by one he removed all her jewelry. She sat before him in her saree with lowered gaze and sides of her saree clutched in her palms. He adored her innocence. He made her lie down on the bed and leaned down trapping her between both his arms. He leaned down further and nuzzled in the crook of her neck. She tried moving back but he leaned further. She closed her eyelids tightly as she felt his hot breaths near her lips.
After a while she couldn't feel his presence so she opened her eyes to find no one in the room. Then a door opened and Rey came out wearing a vest and sweatpants. She looked at him with a questioning look while he just smiled and came towards her. He sat beside her and held her hand.
"Mein jaanta hoon Taani ki hum dono ne iss shaadi ke liye haan jarur kahan par hum ek dusre se pyaar nahi karte. Par mujhe yakeen hai ki humare beech yeh pyaar ka rishta jarur bandhega aur mein ussi din tumhe apna banaunga." He said placing a kiss on back of her hand and then on her forehead.
He turned to go towards the lounger beside the bed when Taani caught his arm stopping him.
"Aap kahan ja rahe ho?"
"Tum bed pe araam se so jao."
"Bed bohot bada hai. Aap bhi yahin so sakte ho."
"Par Taani.."
"Par kya Rey? Agar aap abhi lounger pe sone gaye toh shayad yeh jo aapko yakeen hai uss pe se mera yakeen choot jayega. Meine aap pe khud se jyada bharosa karna seekh liya hai Rey aur mein yeh guarantee ke saath keh sakti hoon ki aap mera bharosa nahi todenge. Meine iss bharose ko pyaar maana hai. Isiliye mein yeh keh sakti hoon ki mein aapse pyaar karne lagi hoon."
They both hugged each other tightly and then slept peacefully with a belief that one day they'll love each other like no one ever loved.
