Chapter 3 : Adonis in human flesh
Can we do that? Ask help from the devil?
"You want us to ask help from the devil himself?" Viren beat me to addressing the big elephant in the room.
"Yes." Stefan replied calmly. "Before you say anything else, remember, this is the only way around. Who is more powerful than the two families? Who can do solve a crime, the police can't? There is no one except for him."
I agreed with Stefan. There was no one who could help us other than him but there had to be. We couldn't possibly ask help from him.
"But there must be other way around. How about asking the royal family? They are above all laws and power. They can help us." Viren suggested to which I looked hopefully back at Stefan. Asking the royals seemed easier than the person who Stefan was suggesting.
"And pray tell me, why would the royals get involved? Well that's secondary, how will you contact them in the first place? Last time I checked none of us are related to the royal family whatsoever." Stefan reasoned.
"And how will we contact.." I couldn't even take his name. "How will we contact the devil?"
"I think I can pull some strings. I remember some months ago a fellow colleague in my firm was in problem. He shared to me that the devil somehow helped him to solve the problem. As far as I know he gives favours instead of something in return."
"Taking his nickname too seriously now, is he?" I couldn't help the sarcasm even at this dire situation. "What would we have to do in return?"
"I don't know about that." Stefan shrugged. I gave the idea a thought. Would he help? If he does what will he ask in return?
"You aren't really thinking this are you? Shivani this craziness." Viren said as if not believing his ears. "There must be another way around."
"But there isn't one! This is the only way Viren and if this is possible then I am doing it."
"What about the consequences Shivani?"
"I don't care anymore Viren. My son is my priority and I will do anything to get him back even if it means signing my soul to the devil!" I made my mind.
"Fine then. You do as you wish but I'm not going to be part of this. You do your way, I will do mine. I will get my son without any criminal's help." Saying this Viren walked out shutting the door hard behind him. I looked at the door for sometime as if hoping he would come back. But he didn't. Same like he didn't five years ago. If that day I could fend for my son and myself I could do the same today too.
…
I paced around the room waiting for Stefan's call. He was finding some way to contact the, well you know who. Walking around I came across a toy car lying on the floor. I picked the toy car up. Moving the car in my hands I thought of the times I had scolded Aron for leaving his toys everywhere. If only he would come back, I would let him leave his toys anywhere he wants. I would do anything he wants even if it means giving him ice cream in breakfast.
Thankfully my phone chose to rang in that moment preventing me from crying futher. Before I could even say hello, Stefan informed he found a way to contact him and asked me to meet him.
Half an hour later, me and Stefan were waiting in the lobby of what appeared to be a five star hotel. I would have given it a good look had I not had so much going in my mind. We were waiting for the person who would help us meet the devil. The CEO of the company Stefan represents, apparently knows the devil. Well not personally. Nobody knows the devil personally, in fact nobody even knows what he looks like or even remember his real name. He has been addressed as the devil for long. Did he even have a real name? I'm pretty sure he did.
"I'm sorry for making you wait." A voice called out and I looked up to see the person who it belonged to. In front of me stood a tall, lean guy wearing a well fitted suit. The mass of his black hair was gelled to one side and the smile he carried showcased his perfectly white teeth. Well wasn't he a sight?
"Hi! I'm Caden." He introduced himself to me. "I guess you're the one Stefan was talking about." I nodded to that. "Don't worry I will try to help you as much as I can." I tried to smile at his assurance.
Soon we were heading to God knows where in Caden's car. After an hour drive from the city, we travelled to a less crowded area. The houses started getting less as we drove along the empty road. The car then screeched to a stop and Caden turned towards us.
"You two would need to wear this please." He handed us a blindfold each. Well this made it real. Tying the cloth around our eyes we let Caden lead us to our destination. The smooth cloth rubbed against my eyes somehow calming my nerves down. We were guided inside a house and were told we could take our blinds off once we were seated. I took a quick look around the room. It was a big room coloured grey. There were sofas matching the theme and in the middle was a round table with a big glass vase on it. However the vase was empty and so were the walls not giving any homely vibes. It looked more like a office.
We heard footsteps and Caden turned to us and whispered, "hes here." Following his gaze I looked upto the door as a tall figure entered.
My breath caught as I stared at one of the most beautiful sight God had created. There he stood, tall and dark. His orbs were of deep sea colour suiting his sun kissed skin. His jawline, prominent and those light pink lips decorated his perfect face. His brown hair was messed up and he carried a ruffled look with his fist few buttons opened giving a peek of his hard toned chest. If Amna was here she probably would have called him Adonis in human form. As our eyes locked, my heart started beating fast and it wasn't because of fear, it was because hell was about to loose.
