Chapter 20

SULK

Arnav excused himself from the restaurant and was busy on the call which was damn urgent for his company and his reputation as well. He had to urgently rush for the sudden meeting and in the rush he forgot to tell khushi where is he going. He took the keys of the car from his pocket and directly from their rushed to the office. All the time he was so so so busy that he forgot that he was with someone few hour ago. Time passed and finally his work nearly completed. He finally left for his hotel forgetting that someone is waiting for him. He came to the hotel at midnight . he was so tired that he didn't have the strength to do anything .he was opening the door of his room when his phone rang. He had already lost all his contact because of their morning slumber. He tried to remember whose number was it but failed and then the call got disconnected. He entered the room and call backed the caller and was none other than his sister .

Arnav-"hello..."

Anjali-Chotte...where are you...why you picked up the phone so late...?"

Arnav-"nothing Di...was just busy in some meeting...by the way you tell me what happened...and you are still awake...is everything fine?"

Anjali-"arrey...I wanted to talk to Khushiji...have you not informed her to call me...?"

Arnav-"khushi???" (and then suddenly he remembered that she is not with him...he turned around to check and made an useless effort of finding her..if she is not here then...") he immediately disconnected the phone and rushed to the restaurant where he had left her hoping that she must have not gone somewhere else...)

Anjali-"chotte...!!!!" "chotte...are you there ??? and their was complete silence from the other end followed by the beeps of call discontinuation. She was a bit surprised with this but thought that it might be a network problem.

"dammit...how could I forget her...(he tried calling her but unfortunately he had lost her number...now their was no way left to contact her...) he was too worried for her and angry on himself too...but " if by mistake I had forgot to pick her up than she can herself reach the hotel...she is not a baby..."(the place was quite far from his hotel and he was driving recklessly afterall she was his responsibility .he just wanted to see her safe.)

Meanwhile in the hotel it was now heights of waiting for her. She was too worried for Arnav . her brain had stopped working. All evil thoughts were striking her brain making her more nervous. Then suddenly she thought of calling Anjali. She dialled her number and luckily she picked up her call just in few seconds.

Anjali-"hello...Khushiji..."

Khushi (with teary voice)-"Di..."

Anjali-(a bit worried with her voice)-"khushi ji...what happened...why are you crying...?"

Khushi-"Di...wo actually we came out today for some sightseeing...(sobs) and than Arnavji had got some urgent call...(sobs) its midnight now...and...and he hadn't returned yet... she couldn't control anymore and started crying.."

Anajli-"khushiji...I just talked to Chotte and he didn't told me anything such but when I asked him about you suddenly the call disconnected..please...you first control yourself. (anjali was trying to console khushi but her sobs got harder and harder...and then to their bad luck their phone got disconnected. Khushi's phone was discharged and now their was no ways left to communicate to her.)

Anjali-"chotte...how could you..?"

Shyam-"what happened...why are you looking so tensed?"

Anjali-"because my brother has gone nuts... and making me too...he had forgot to pick Khushiji from some restaurant and now she is alone their "

Shyam-"WHAT???"

Anjali-"yes...let me call Chotte and she dialled his number but he rejected her call. "and now he is not picking up the phone"

Shayam-"don't worry...he must be going to pick her up...just hope Khushi ji is safe..."

Anjali-"I too hope the same...but this Chotte...let him come home..."

Shayam-"don't stress so much let me do something..." and he got down to try something...but it seems to be impossible as their was no ways left to contact Khushi.

Khushi was crying hard in the hotel and that's when the manager restaurant arrived.

Manager-"ma'am we have to close the restaurant now...and we have been seeing you so long..."

Khushi-"yes I am waiting for my husband...and she wiped her tears...

Manager-"please ma'am...we cant wait any longer..please clear the bills..."

Khushi-"but I ... I don't have any money...I said na once my husband will come I will clear all the bills..but please wait for some more minutes..."

Manager-"sorry ma'am..you even don't have any money we cant trust you any more..."

Khushi-(getting up from the chair)-"but I am not lying..."

Manager-"everyday we have customers like you...please leave ma'am otherwise we have to call the security..."

Khushi-"but...where will I go..."

Manager-"please ma'am...you may go anywhere..."

Khushi felt very insulted with this...picking up the packets she started walking out of the restaurant...she doesn't know where to go...neither she would find a cab at this hour of the night. She walked out from their and started walking on the road though she doesnt know which direction to go. She was just walking and walking and then she saw a huge tree.

Khushi-(I think it will be better I sit here and wait for Arnavji here only). It was too cold outside she took her dupatta and wrapped herself and sat their waiting for him.)

Meanwhile Arnav reached the restaurant and instantly looked out for the place where they were sitting.but unfortunately she wasn't their. "DAMN..." He saw the Manager and rushed to him.

Arnav-"excuse me...there was a girl..sitting there..."

Manager-(cutting him in between)-"yes sir...she was sitting here for hours...waiting for her husband..."

Arnav-(cutting off in between )-"then where is she...?"

Manager-"sir...she didn't even cleared our bills...and it was so long that we asked her to leave..."

Arnav-(now losing his patience)-"WHATTT???? You asked her to leave???how can you...(clutching the manager's collar) how dare you???"

Manager-"I am sorry...sorry..."

Arnav-"when did she leave???"

Manager-"sir a moment ago...she must be here somewhere ..."

Arnav (leaving his collar and threw the entire money which he had in his wallet)-"I think that's more than enough " and he without hearing any word he rushed to the side which the manager instructed. He was driving at an insane speed looking here and their just to find her. After driving for long he gradually slowed down his speed so that he may focus on the roads to see her too. It was 1;00 am and yet he was not able to find her. He was searching all the sides then he heard someone calling him.

"Arnavjiii..."

Arnav instantly halted down the breaks of his car. Was she her. Only she is the one who calls him "arnavji..." he instantly came out of the car and turned back to see her standing. He couldn't explain what he felt when he saw her standing safe. His anger vanished seeing her teary eyes. He was too happy to see her safe and sound.Khushi holding the packets in her hands rushed towards him and hug him tight dropping all the things she was holding aside. She was crying very bitterly which made him a bit sad and guilty too. He wanted to hug her and console her but his hands stopped in mid way from hugging her.

Khushi-"where were you...(sobs)...you know (sobs) how scared I was...(sobs)...what if anything would have (sobs) happen to you...(sobs)

Arnav was very confused. She was worried for him. He left her alone and yet she was crying for him? He was damn confused. What if anything would have happen to her...? He was very guilty for what he did. He tried to say something but she again started.

Khushi-"at least you can give me call (sobs)

Arnav was not able to answer her queries , to escape the situation he just broke the hug and said-"sit in the car...we will talk in the hotel...its already late..."

They broke the hug and khushi went to pick up the packets she had threw but before she could go he said..-"leave them...I will bring them...you just go and sit in the car..." to which Khushi jus nodded and wiping her tears she sat in the car.

Arnav wanted to say sorry but he himself doesn't know why this word is so hard to escape his mouth. But he sat in the car and finally drove it to their destination. Their was complete silence between the two. She didn't spoke a word nor he said anything .when they reached the hotel Khushi didn't even wait for him and entered the elevator and opened the door of their room. Arnav understood that she is very upset but he didn't now what could make her smile again.

He followed her to the room but she was in ultra high speed today. She took her dress to change in the bathroom and came out wearing it. She came out wearing her night wears and started arranging the bed to lie down. She was not talking to him, she found a good opportunity to sulk and made him realize his mistake. He today not only forgot her but even had said something which she didn't liked. She starting lying on the bed when he sensed that she is really VERY angry with him. But still he tried to initiate conversation.

Arnav-"eerrmmm...dont you want have something..." But their was no reply from her side..."okay wait I will order something..." and he was about to pick up the phone when she replied...

Khushi-"no need...i don't want anything " and saying this she laid on the bed switching off the side lamp.

Arnav saw her actions and laid down next to her. Khushi slept quickly but sleep was far away from his eyes. His mind was only occupied with the thought how to make her smile again. "DAMN how could i forget her...and now she is upset...what to do now????" then his mind was suddenly came on the incident which happened when he saw her. She hugged him...but why he had an urge to hug her back...their was a big question mark on this... He kept on thinking on this but then again her words echoed in his mind..."what if something would have happened to you???" after doing so bad to her still she cared for him. He turned to look at her who sleeping peacefully hugging the duvet. Her innocence was clearly visible on her face. Her love and care was visible in her eyes. He don't know why he always have an urge to stay with her, to touch her, to spend some time with her. Again his mind once remembered the fact if Lavanya would have been here she would have definitely took this thing to another level but why didn't Khushi didn't fought with him?

"Please don't make things difficult for me Khushi..." He whispered to himself and finally felt asleep thinking the same.

Next morning

Khushi woke up early and had ordered their breakfast before he wakes up. she took her shower and was dressed in one of the dresses bought by him but she didn't wake him up. this was the perfect opportunity for her to make him realize his mistake. Arnav himself woke up and was surprised to see her sitting on the couch reading a novel. He didn't realize when he felt asleep...she woke up and did so many things. Khushi saw him opening eyes and in a stern voice said

"your coffee is here...you may freshen up yourself"

Her stern voice was evident that she is hell upset. He got up and rushed to the bathroom. This was the place where he could think of something. He was standing under the shower and was thinking all possible ways to make her smile again. After several flop ideas his mind had an idea which every lady likes. Whenever Lavanya used to be upset he used to take her for shopping and used to buy some expensive gifts for her.

Arnav-"that's perfect...I will give her my card and will send her for shopping"

He came out of the washroom and had his coffee and breakfast. Their was pin drop silence between them which is nearly impossible if someone is living with Khushi. Arnav cleared his throat to initiate the conversation.

Arnav-"eerrmm...get ready I will drop you to the shopping complex"

Khushi-"I have already shopped enough..."

Arnav-"so what are you going to do here alone...you shop as much as you want...and moreover you didn't bought anything for your parents...so just...(and leaving his own sentence incomplete he looked down)

Khushi felt good that he cared for her family as well and guilt was visible on his face. She only nodded in affirmative and got ready within in few minutes. As she came out he handed her his credit card.

Arnav-"take it...I know you will be needing it..."

Though he did this to make her happy but his words which he uttered few hours back while they were shopping reminded her status again ,and thinking about that she felt bad. Why do he always think she wants his money. She was standing like a statue when he again repeated his words but this time a bit louder.

Arnav-"take..."

And getting alarmed she took his card. They both came out of their room and went to one one the biggest complex in manali "The City Complex"

Arnav-"I will be coming to pick up you up soon...and incase you are done early then call me." And saying this he went to his office leaving her behind.
