Chapter 3

Arnav was restlessly moving to and fro in his room. How could his plan backfire him. He has to marry a girl whom he don't know even. And what is he going to tell lavanya? He cant leave her and neither he can ruin 3 lives . After 1 week is his marriage and now he cant do anything. He can neither love this new girl in his life nor he want to imagine his life with her. He was very rich and every girl wants to marry him just for his money and he somewhere knew that this girl i.e Khushi too is marrying him for his money. He was hell frustrated with things happening in his life."ENOUGH, I need to tell di everything" and with this he advanced toward his di's room.

Anjali was looking at some old jewellery sets and was planning today's event of his brother's engagement. She was very busy. When she was doing the arrangements and was packing the jewellery sets with his husband Shyam ,Arnav entered her room like a storm.

"Di I need to talk to you"

Anajli- (with a calm voice)"Come sit here first"

Arnav -"Di, its urgent"

Anjali -(Showing him a jewellery set)-" Chotte, see this. Mumma gave me this to give this to your wife. Nice na. you know mumma so wanted you to marry but...(and she chocked)

Arnav-(calming her down)"Di..its the past...Please...dont cry...I cant see you like this"

Anjali- "I am not crying stupid (and cupped his face). They are my happy tears. You know I am so happy today finally you are getting engaged today. You know before leaving us (with some tears in her eyes)... mumma gave the responsibility of your marriage and see...today my choote is getting engaged Mumma would be so happy and proud today".

Arnav was feeling helpless infront of his di's happiness. He cant hurt her at any cost. His mother left him years back and his di was the one who cared for him the most and supported him in every aspects of his life. She took his mother's position in his life and he cant see his mother hurt because of him.he was very confused how to react now?

Anjali-"you will be very happy when you will meet Khushiji". Arnav only faked a smile on this. And I am sure after the marriage you will not have any time left for me..."

Arnav-(with concern)"Di you were, you are and you will always be my priority...I love you di more than I love anything else in this world"

Anjali-(holding his palm in her hands)-"then promise one thing today...you will love khushiji the way you love me...you wont let me down infront of her parents...She is a very nice girl trust me and I don't want you to hurt her at all...for my sake "

Arnav-"Di...(exhaling a deep breath) I promise you...and Anjali instantly hugged him tight (he was not in a situation to say more...He cant even tell her sister what he came for...he was totally helpless today..seeing his sister so happy was only thing he wanted in his life...and if she is happy with this then he cant even dream of hurting her when she is already stressed because of him)

He after all this walked out of his sister's room and entered his room hopelessly. "what had this girl done to my Di that she is only talking of her from so long"..."for her happiness, she took a promise from me"...impossible...I used to meant everything to her and even before coming to this house you had already started brain washing her"..."I thought you only want the money but you have involved my DI too in this...You are messing with a wrong man Miss...I wont let your any plans to be successful here"

Gupta house

Everyone was busy for the today's event. Though Anjali had took the responsibility of everything but yet they want to contribute equally after all it was their daughter's wedding. All their relatives had arrived and the much awaited bua ji who loved her the most in the entire family arrived the first. Both the girls i.e Khushi and Payal were busy in chatting with their buaji when Garima entered the room.

Garima-"khushi beta, get ready we need to go shopping"

Khushi-"for what ma we had already shopped everything na"

Garima -"beta, its your engagement today and we have to buy the most important thing for today, Arnav's ring". Khushi blushed listening his name.

Buaji-"Look at my princess, how much she is blushing". And everyone in the room started teasing her.

Khushi-" bua ji please"

Bua-"ok..ok...now common get ready otherwise we will be late"

All four of them went together to buy some important stuffs for the evening.

Raizada Mansion

Anjali was shouting at the top her voice-"Come chotte, fast..., otherwise we will be late"

Arnav-"Di..., I already told you that I am not interested in shopping but still..."

Anjali- "just shut up...you are such a bore..and tell me one thing..what are you interested in?... its your engagement today and you are not even bothered to get a ring..."

Arnav-"Okay...Okay...now don't start again...I am coming with you but I will sit in the car and you may shop whatever you want"

Anjali-"its your engagement not mine"

Arnav-"when you had already selected the girl for my marriage then ring is a very small thing"

Anjali-"now you don't start again...common we are getting late"...She literally pulled Arnav out of the house and went to the jewellery store but as usual he didn't accompany her to the store. He found his car a better place then the shopping store.

Khushi, Payal, along wit their bua were busy selecting the rings in different store but a huge problem arouse infront of them. His ring size..

Garima -"will this ring fit him?( giving Khushi one of the rings )

Khushi-"it seems to be small ma...what about this ma..."

Payal-"you are saying Khushi as if you have seen him before...I don't think wasting time in deciding the ring size will work...(turning to khushi)-"just call him and ask him his ring size"

Khushi-"M..e...(she stammered in nervousness)

Payal-"yes you"

Garima-"haan beta...I think Payal is right...you should call him"

Khushi-"b..u..t I don't have his number"

Buaji-"what you don't have hiss number???...do one thing call Anjali ji she might be knowing about him"

Khushi-"but...(all other 3 of them stared her badly)...okay...I will"...and she dialled Anjali's number.

Arnav was sitting in his car checking his mails when he suddenly heard the noise of a phone buzzing.he immediately took her phone and was unable to recognise the caller id. He immediately pick up the phone.

"Hello "

"hello...Anjali ji Namaste...Hum Khushi..."(hello Anjali ji...I am khushi)

"Who Khushi...(he really didn't recognise who is on the other side of the Phone)

Khushi-(she was really shocked by this..)-"ji...h..u..m..wo (she stammered in nervousness)

Arnav-"What the hell...Cant you speak properly..(and he disconnected the phone)

Khushi-"hello...hello..."

Anjali saw arnav talking to someone on her phone. While keeping the packets in and sitting in the car she asked-"who was it Chotte"

Arnav-"Don't know di...some Ushi,,Khushi...I don't know"

Anjali looked him in disbelief. He doesn't even khow the name of the girl with whom he is getting engaged today-"Chotte, it was Khushiji's phone"

Arnav-"What!!!"

Anjali-"now call her back...and know why she called"

Arnav-"Noo ways Di I am not calling her back"

Anjali-"ok then let me call myself" and she dialled her number.

Anjali-"hello Khushi ji you called"

Khushi-"haan di wo actually..."

Anjali-"arrey khushiji my servant picked up the phone...he is a bit mannerless...I will tell him about you..."(Arnav was looking at her in disbelief) ...and anjali smirked.

Khushi-" Di I just wanted to know about the ring size of arnavji?2

Anjali-"oh...Arnav ji's ring size...oh fo"

Khushi-"Diii..."

Anjali-"okay...okay...its 14.."

Khushi-"thank you Di"and they disconnected the phone.

Arnav-" Di...am I your servant...impossible"anjali laughed and they both drove towards Raizada Mansion.

Evening at the venue

Every member of both families were dressed beautifully. Raizadas have taken great care that everything is upto their standards and the biggest thing Arnav comes their on time. They cant risk it now. For this Akash was given special instructions that no meeting should pop up infront of Arnav. He was given the responsibility of mending Arnav's business schedule so that no emergency comes up for the next one week whereas Shyam was given the responsibility to take care of Arnav at home. He was give the responsibility that to check Arnav doesn't run away from home for any work and to even check him that he doesn't do any work from so that he may take part in wedding ceremony.The family was taking extra precaution with him. Whereas Khushi was enjoying every bit of these days as and was even a bit sad that she has to leave this house and to go his husband's house after 1 week.

Arnav was dressed in black tuxedos as he don't like wearing Indian traditional outfits. For this he was not forced because everything was going against his wish, atleast he should be allowed to wear what he wants to wear...Arnav was very restless. Thought of marrying some stranger was literally killing him. He was not at all comfortable with the surroundings. Suddenly he got a text message.

"Come and meet me as soon as possible. I am in room number 702"

Its was Lavanya's message and he rushed to meet her. Whereas Khushi was in her room no 701 getting ready for the event.

As Arnav entered the Lavanya's room she instantly hugged him tight and started crying on his chest-"you cant leave me like this...I love you and you are marrying someone else..."

He hugged her back -"I cant do anything now...But neither I can leave you...we have to live with this fact now..."

Lavanya-"didn't you tell your di regarding our relationship"

Arnav-"she is so excited with this marriage that I cant hurt her...Lavanya breaking the hug...

"so you will marry her"

Arnav0"just for a contract, Di is pregnant and I cant risk her life as doctor told us to take her extra

Lavnaya-"IMPOSSIBLE...you cant to anything now...and you don't know these girl...She only wants your money...and what you think it will be easy for to make her walk out...and you have to live with her...what if shetries to..."

Arnav-"she wont get anything from me...This marriage is just a compromise...and I will make her realise this very soon...and why are you upset...I will manage everything...Now show me your hand"

Lavanya-"hand for what"

Arnav-"He didn't feel the need of explaining her everything and took her hand in his and made her wear the ring-"Di bought this ring for that girl...but I wont give her...Its for you...". Arnav was always very ignorant about his relationship with LAvanya. For him it was just a status ..he had never even spoke those 3 magical words to her...but lavanya indulged in this relationship and was the one who always use to him to get in this relationship.

Lavanya was too happy after getting that beautiful diamond ring from him and hugged him again. But it was the time for him to leave...everyone was waiting for him. As he was about to walk out of the room...Khushi saw him coming out of the next room...Her heart skipped several beats looking him face to face for the first time...but she was a bit confused what was he doing here?...but she killed this thought and in nervousness stepped back into her room...hiding herself...

Both Arnav and Khushi were called for the ceremony. Arnav was waiting for her in not son interested look. As khushi came down wearing a pink colours saree all eyes were glued on her beauty...She was looking magnificent...Arnav too looked her once then kept on staring her for long. She is so pretty. He was lost in those beautiful eyes.But he immediately jerked his head to remove this thought and keep on chanting in his mind that she is just doing for money and he wont give her anything... Khushi was too scared to look directly into his eyes.

Both were now called to exchange the rings. Payal gave her the ring and she made him wear the ring and everyone present clapped. Khushi was too shy to look up and Arnav was intentionally not looking up.But when his turn came-"Chotte, where is the ring?"

Arnav-"I don't know di, you must be having"

All were surprised by this. Anjali remembered well that she handed himt he ring but where has the ring gone now?"-"check it again...Akash you too check it in the car". But they didn't find the ring.

Arnav-"Di...now what to do."

Nani-"wait chotte...She instructed Anjali to bring something and she did so"

Nani handing Arnav a small box and instructed him to make Khushi wear this ring. She then informed everyone-"It is my daughter's and arnav's mother ring... Its design is a bit old but it means lot to me...my daughter wanted see arnav marrying but her wish was not fulfilled but today she will be very happy seeing her daughter in law wearing her ring"

Arnav-"but nani..."

Nani-"no buts arnav make her wear this..if you mother would have been here she too must have did so...and with frustrated look he made her wear it"and everyone clapped aloud . Finally they were engaged though he tried a lot to stay away from her but destiny had planned something else for him this time. the more he wanted to give her nothing but she got something which is more than just a ring to him...after a small function after it both Guptas and Raizadas went to their homes and started preparing for the next function
