16 year old Newbie Khushi at Stanford High, is a girl one of her kind, and slowly even though awkwardly gels in with the people around, giving in Vivek Mandvi the place of her best friend, and the popular (not-so-social) dude around who she initially starts of on hate terms, slowly turns into being her main love interest, Arnav Singh Raizada. While the story revolves mainly around two inter linked households the Gupta's and the Raizada's a major part of this FF is dedicated to friendship values, between the characters, and siblings bonding. With time, after the Science exhibition, when Khushi finally begins to feel something for Arnav other than hatred, she comes to terms with her feelings at the field trip weekend arranged by the school. A turn of events lead her to confronting Arnav about the situation, which she escapes temporarily through Viveks smart intervention however, against all odds, and getting into a fierce fight with Vivek she brings forward her feelings before Arnav, who cuts her short, breaking her heart, and creating a rift between the two. In the last two chapter it self, Khushi is seen having a rough time struggling with her emotions, topped with exams,she and Vivek manage to reconcile, however she is sour about Arnav now and in the midst of all this the entry of Nikhil Ahuja complicates things between Arnav and Khushi all the more. Arnavs jealousy towards Nikhil and Khushi letting on her guards by him by calling it a truce and being 'just friends' with Arnav breaks Arnavs resolve to admit his feelings for her to himself. After Viveks constant pushing Arnav somehow gets back on track however Khushi refuses to let him in, though he confesses that he does need time to figure himself out. While Arnav and Khushi continue their tumultuous relationship a life threatening disease arrives on Vivek's doorstep, and by an interlude of faith Arnav finds out. Its their secret to keep, and one to hide from Khushi, taking a toll on each of their other relationships with Khushi, who is increasingly anxious and worried in the last few chapters. Nikhil on the other hand, is just not the guy he seems, hes a new guy with an agenda, on a mission, forced into it by circumstances that involve the love of his life Christine. More is to be revealed about this later in the upcoming chapters. A yearly national play in which Arnav and Khushi land the role of the leading actors bring them closer to eachother giving them a chance to resolve their issues, with Khushi agreeing to give Arnav a second chance. Viveks secret is still a secret, but his secret is now not just his.
