Flashback In Italics

Part 3

For Swayam , it seemed as if someone had very harshly snatched his soul away from his body. He seemed lifeless for some minutes. Everything came flashing in his mind , when he first saw her , her breath taking smile , her innocent eyes , her accepting his proposal , her kissing the other guy , and saying she used him , and then finally Rey's words.

His eyes filled with tears. No it couldn't be Sharon , now the question which came in his mind , was how badly was she injured?

He felt his feet involuntarily standing , and he ran , he ran to his car , opening it , he sat. His hands trembled while switching on the engine , his hand shivered. He didn't know why , he was scared . He shrugged his thoughts , and drove.

He reached the hospital , and came to where Sharon was admitted. Swaron were outside , Swayam saw the ICU , he trembled. Kria ran and hugged him crying.

"Re-Swayam , Sha-Sharon v-voh."

She was finding it hard to tell Swayam what had happened to Sharon , and that made him shiver. Was she alright? His heart pained , even thinking about the state in Sharon must be , which makes Kria cry so bad. He pulled back Kria.

The door opened , and Sharon was bought out on the stretcher , Swayam couldn't see her , and turned away . She was still unconscious , and was being shifted to the private ward. The stretcher was passing when her hand brushed Swayam's.

His breath stopped after that for a second. He was feeling her touch after 2 years! His hand turned into a fist . He didn't dare turn , he wasn't that strong. She was taken , and he turned.

"Let's go Swayam."

He walked slowly. Sharon had been shifted to the room now. And was sleeping. Swayam reached the door. He had second thoughts about entering the room. He wanted to see her badly , but was he ready? Was he ready to face his love again , that to probably in a worse condition which he didn't want her to be in. He couldn't.

Before entering , he turned to Kria and Rey.

"What happened to her?"

Rey told him as. As words escaped Rey's mouth , Swayam felt his world collapse around him. He fell down on his knees again. Flabbergasted , he didn't know how to react. Get angry at the bloody moron for hurting her , or getting angry on himself , he couldn't protect the girl he loved , he couldn't keep his promise. His eyes closed as he remembered their conversation.

Sharon was in Swayam's arms cuddeled. Swayam playing with her hair. She seemed lost , a bit hurt. Involuntarily A tear escaped her eyes. Which fell on Swayam's other hand.

"Sharon?"

"You won't let anything happen to me na?"

"Huh?"

"I saw a movie , where a girl is getting raped by someone and her boyfriend runs away. If I ever land up in that situation , would you run away?"

"Never! And don't ever think you will ever land up in the situation. I won't let anything happen to you as long as I live Sharon. That's my promise."

Sharon smiled , and hugged him , closing her eyes. Only if he knew , she lived in the fear , in the fear that it could happen , and she knew that he wouldn't be able to save her.

"I can't face her!"

Swayam got up and went away. Swaron were not in a state to argue. Kria walked inside. She saw her tears. Her eyes were filled with tears again. She closed her eyes remembering their last conversation.

Kria had come to Sharon's home , after Swayam had left , and even rohan. Sharon hugged her best friend . Kria in shock hugged her back.

"Usse pata chal gaya Kria. He knows about me and rohan."

"What! Sharon , nothing going wrong , just tell Swayam the truth , I am sure he'll understand."

"No! I am leaving Kria , leaving with rohan tomorrow , you have to promise me something?"

"Leaving with him? Are you..."

"Kria! Promise me something and I'll promise you that I will take care of myself. If you don't promise me.."

Sharon took the knife beside and puts it on her wrist.

"..I'll kill myself."

"You are blackmailing me Sharon!"

"Yes I am , cause I know , when I go , the first thing you will do is go and blurt out the truth. So promise me."

"Promise you what Sharon?"

"Promise me that you won't say a word to anyone. About the truth."

"And let you do something which is completely equal to suicide! No! I don't promise you Sharon , you're my best friend , and I will not let you push yourself to hell."

Sharon took her own finger , and cuts it a bit.

"It's this sharp , if I slash my hand with this , I'll die on spot Kria. I mean it , promise me right now."

Kria looked horrified , she couldn't . She bloody couldn't do this. She closed her eyes , and remembered everything , the first time they had met in school , then in park , and then grew close , all the sleep overs , the masti , the toughest time of their lives , and then Sharon's determined face. She had to let herself trust Sharon , she knew she was capable to take care of herself. In the past few years , she had seen Sharon grow from a weak and shy girl to a determined , bold and strong girl. She knew she was doing a mistake by taking the promise , but she knew if she didn't it would be a bigger mistake.

"I promise!"

Sharon threw the knife. And hugged Kria. Tears fell from both of their eyes. The two best friends didn't want to leave each other. Sharon reluctantly pulled back. She wiped her tears.

"Good Bye Kria and thanks for everything."

Kria looked horrified.

"You are keeping contact with me Sharon!"

"You supported me throughout this journey Kria. You were there walking beside me. But from now , I have to walk this journey alone. Maybe I'll meet you again , or maybe never."

"You can't!"

"Good Bye Kria , bye forever ."

Kria was numb , Sharon packed her bag . She held Swayam's picture , looked at it one last time , kissing it. She threw it away. And went with her bag. Leaving Kria alone. Kria ran to the window , and saw rohan waiting there.

Sharon came to him , he took her in a kiss. Kria looked away with tears. And that was the last time she saw Sharon.

"You broke your promise Sharon."

Kria saw Sharon move , she was waking up. She wiped her tears. Sharon opened her eyes. She saw Kria. And a small smile came on her face. Kria looked at her smile.

"Kamini , you won't change. Mujhe rula kar , khudh hass padi."

"Hobby hain meri , chutegi nahi."

Her voice was very weak . Sharon slowly raised her hand to wipe Kria's tears. At that time , the police came , Rey behind them. Krisha looked at the police.

"You!"

Kria said in a tone which clearly reflected that she loathed the police man. Sharon held her hand and nods in a no. Kria stopped herself from shouting.

"Kya hua aapke saath?"

The police man asked. Sharon closed her eyes in pain.

"I don't want to file a case."
