CHAPTER 4

RECAP: TAANI DECIDED TO GIVE MONEY TO REY FOR HIS VIDEO GAMES CONTRACT

Next morning

Taani woke up first and freshen up; she made 2 mugs of coffee and went to the bedroom. She was amazed as rey was asleep for a long time and assumed that he needed sleep after a stressful day; she tried to wake him up and called out his name, but no response. She saw a swear drop on his forehead and when she wiped it off, she understood that he was boiling with high fever!

T: rey! Rey wake up! (Shaking him)

No response from rey.

A line of tension spread through her face. She instantly called one of her family doctor (in the sense swayam's family doc), and explained the situation. She did not inform swayam and Sharon as she dint want to tense them up early morning.

Soon, the doctor arrived and checked rey's temperature and gave some medicines. He asked the situation why he fell ill and asked regarding the previous day history. Taani told him that he is totally immersed in stress regarding his job and his profession. The doctor told that he should relax for a few days and resume his work, as he is mentally stressed now it would affect him very badly psychologically.

Taani finally sent the doctor learning on how to give the medicines to rey. it was 11 AM and she called up swayam

Swayam was busy in his cabin thinking that how to convince the MNC about rey's talent as he was not abandoned because of his own mistake! But again he was feeling as if all his thoughts are waste as the MNC cannot take a risk. Soon his phone started buzzing

Sw: yes taani! Say!

T: bhai!

Sw: what's up? All fine?

T: no bhai!

Swayam noticed the tension in her voice!

T: bhai, are you busy?

Sw: no! Why? Taani tell me! Am I missing something?

T: bhai, rey is suffering from high fever! (Stammering)

Sw: what? But he was fine yesterday?!

T: yes bhai, he was fine till last night till dinner, the fever took over in his sleep. Doctor checked him early morning and I called you to say the same.

Sw: how is he now?

T: he did not wake up from his sleep, once he wakes up, he needs to break his fast (breakfast) and have his medicines.

Sw: taani, I am coming!

T: bhai! Wait!

T: I will tell you when to come, right now everything I can manage!

Sw: are you sure?

T: yes bhai!

Sw: taani, if he would have listened to me, he wouldn't have suffered all this!

T: bhai I know whatever happened! And now he has no choice, he needs to take our help and he agreed to accept the FD which dad deposited on my name in the bank.

Sw: but taani? Are you sure about it?

T: yes bhai, and he promised me that he will accept it.

Sw: okay, as you wish! And I am just a phone call away! Call me if you are not able to manage anything!

T: sure bhai!

Sw: and if you want call Sharon to your place for a few hours, its okay!

T: no bhai, I can manage! And I will call soon to inform how rey is.

Sw: okay!

T: bye bhai!

Sw: bye!

Taani turned back and saw that rey was wide awake and heard the whole conversation.

T: rey, how are you now? Is your head aching? Are you feeling nausea? Giddiness? You want to have something?

R: taani, I am fine! Relax, I have fever, but you are fine! Stop freaking out!

Taani felt a little sad but

T: you go and brush your teeth, I will bring the breakfast for you.

Rey slowly got down the bed but he was feeling dizzy. He managed to go towards the bathroom and started to brush his teeth, he sat down on the bath stool and was brushing slowly, as he dint have that energy to stand and brush, but it helped him realize

Voice over (REY)

I don't understand why both the siblings are so concerned for me? I mean they can allow me to arrange the money myself for the contract; instead they are on their toes that they will help me. But why can't they allow me to do it? Do they think I am not fit for it or what do they mean?

After a while,

I think taani guessed that whatever happened had to happen and that's why she is helping me. And how can I even think like this that she is different from me? And they both are thinking like that? As per me, they both are the most genuine persons I have ever seen till date, then how did I ever think like that.

He splashed water on his face and started to wipe his face with his towel.

Oh no! What she must be thinking? I never have any sense of how to behave with a woman, and did I hurt her with my words? Freak!!!

Saying so he left the washroom

Here taani was busy arranging the breakfast on their bed and was checking the medicines what she should give rey after the breakfast,

Rey came there and sat on the bed meanwhile. He started to eat the sandwich staring at her but she was busy in the medicines, moreover she doesn't want rey to get irritated by her again. But it was killing rey! That concern is not seen in her eyes which were 10 minutes ago, he felt something really stabbing him, and the tears were on the verge to come out of his eyes as he is not able to bear this phase of his wife.

T: rey! Once you complete eating the breakfast, do take these medicines

She left saying so, and this broke rey completely!

He had his medicines and rey was still on his bed thinking deeply about taani and lay on his bed.

Taani soon came with a vessel of cold water and a white cloth in it. Rey saw her when she was soaking the cloth and squeezing it inside the vessel; she took the cloth, folded it and kept it on his forehead slightly pressing it.

Rey felt so relieved once she did that. He was intently looking into her eyes but she did not look into his eyes even for once.

Soon, he fell asleep. After a couple of hours, he woke up and searched for her. He came out of the bedroom and saw taani was speaking to someone on her phone. Rey was going back into the room, but he heard taani saying something

T: bhabhi! I donno, I am feeling as if I am only responsible for what he is suffering now, that's why I am doing this, I am not able to forgive myself!

Sh: taani! Relax, it's not like that! And why are you punishing yourself?

T: no bhabi! Until rey recovers, I am not going to even drink a drop of water!

Sh: taani, come on yaar! He is going to be fine as soon as possible, but what for you are not having food? It's okay dear! Everything will be fine! Chill!

T: I know bhabhi everything will be fine, but all this is my trust, and if his temperature reaches to normal I will be the happiest person in the world. And doing such things is not a problem when we are doing for our loved ones; in fact I am feeling good fasting for him.

Sh: okay baby! Chill! But take care of him and yourself also; I can never win with you in an argument. So break your fast soon as I know that he will be fine soon!

T: sure bhabhi! Bye!

Sh: bye!

Rey saw taani turning around and he ran inside his room and sat on his bed, taani came inside and checked his temperature by placing her hand on his forehead. The fever almost came down. She felt so happy but she did not show it on her face. She went to the kitchen and brought his plate to his room as it was lunch time.

Rey could not take it anymore, she kept the plate on his bed and was about to leave but he caught her wrist.

R: did you eat?

T: no

R: then bring your plate also, we will have together

T: rey, I am not hungry. I will eat later! And she was about to leave

Rey caught her tightly and pinned her to the wall but gently, taani was shocked. She saw that rey gripped her shoulders and then noticed his eyes were red.

Slowly tears escaped his eyes, taani was melting under his strong grip, her breath was becoming countless and moreover she was confused.

She lifted her hand and wiped his tear on his cheek gently, rey placed his forehead on hers. And

R: what did I ever do to deserve you taani?

Taani was shocked at his question and soon another tear escaped his eye. She wiped it and her lower lip started to quiver looking at him.

She gently cupped his face and soon rey embraced her in his muscular arms and she was on his chest feeling secured and protected.

After some time, rey broke the hug and

R: taani, bring your plate also

T: okay!

Soon, both had their lunch and by that evening rey was fit and fine like normal but under medication of both doc's and his wife's love!

He was sleeping in taani's lap that evening in the balcony and his phone started buzzing.
