The tale of two

He crouched behind the wall and stared at the woman who
was the axis to his entire life and he couldn't believe he hadn't recognized
her till now. His Chippu, his happiness, which literally translated to who she
was, his Khushi. How could he have missed such obvious signs his heart gave him
since the moment he had kissed her. How could he have missed it? God!
While his mind still wanted to confirm the implausible,
his heart already knew Khushi was none other than his girl. The girl, who
practically was born in his arms, grew up with him, had taken her first steps
with him, and uttered her first sound which was his name. She was molded by him.
How could he not see her for who she was... how?
Destiny had separated them in an age where things usually
seemed very sunny and bright. Which was probably the best because they had
learnt to deal with it, grew stronger, took in all the bullshit the world threw
at them and emerged from the fire, were reborn from the ashes like a raging
phoenix. Coming to think of it, Arnav actually found himself agreeing that the separation
was needed because they never would have been where they were now if they wouldn't
have been separated and left alone in the world because whatever feelings they
had towards each other at that age were so potent that it might have destroyed
their lives completely had they been together. Looking at Khushi, Arnav smiled
a smile that reached his eyes. He was never so proud of his girl than he was
now.
She wasn't crying. She wasn't morose. She was in deep
thought. Whatever was happening had deeply affected her and now that she had
come to know that her father was hospitalized because of her, her confidence
level was greatly shaken. Yet, she wasn't wavering. She sat there, strong,
thinking what her next move would be. Arnav just sat there admiring her inner
strength, remembering how she used to be the stronger one even back then, at a
tender age of nine or ten years.

"He isn't listening to me..." Chippu whined as she went
inside the office of Sr. Avantika, closely followed by Rinnie who was trying to
stop her.
"What is the matter now?" sighed Sr. Avantika, lowering
her glasses and staring at the pair of them. "What did you do now, Rinnie, to
set her off?"
"Why are you blaming me?" this time it was Rinnie who
whined, "you always seem to find faults with me when she is the real menace."
Avantika chuckled, "okay, I am sorry. Why is she
complaining now?"
"Because he is being stupid," Chippu crossed her arms and
stood like a woman on purpose. Rinnie bit his lip to stop smiling.
"Seriously?" Avantika smiled, "why do you think he is
stupid?"
"Because he is wasting his time studying math when he is so
good at drawing..." and on she went, showing her Sister all the sketches Rinnie
had made, explaining how she thought art was good for him. Rinnie just shook
his head, standing in the corner and trying hard not to laugh...
But Sr. Avantika had different opinions, "she is right..."
"What?" Rinnie snapped his head up, "you can't be
serious. She won't help me in doing my math homework and Sr. Lucie will send me
out of the class."
"Oh you two," Avantika laughed, "okay, Rinnie...right now I
don't have a solution. Why don't you two discuss?"
Chippu had looked at him and said, "there is nothing to
discuss. He is going to be an artist..."
And he had...

Chippu cupped her mouth and yelled at the mountains,
experiencing sheer bliss when her voice echoed back to her. Rinnie joined her
on the small ledge she was standing on and started yelling randomly. Chippu looked
at him, annoyed, "feel the nature reverberate inside you...what are you doing?"
Rinnie looked at her oddly, "feel the nature? Where do
you come up with stuff like these?"
"Come here," she said crossly, "close your eyes," and he
did, still smiling, "cup you mouth and now shout. Don't open your eyes."
"Chippy..." He yelled and reveled in the glorious echo as
her name reached back to his ears, resonating inside him, vibrating each and
every cell of his body. Never had he felt so liberated.
"How do you feel?" Chippu asked, smirking, because she
already knew the answer.
"Ultimate..." he replied back, flinging a casual arm on her
shoulder and together, they shouted a bit more at the mountains, giggling like
loons every single time the mountain replied back.
"This is the world..." Chippu smiled.
"You love this, don't you?" Rinnie asked...
"I live this..." she said, her eyes closed in peace.
And she still did...

Then the panic set
in Arnav.
She didn't know her Rinnie was alive. Like most of the
people in the orphanage she too might have thought he had perished in the fire
or might have thought her Rinnie had forgotten her. Now that she knew the real
reason behind her father's accident, she was definitely going to confront him. What
if she surrendered herself to save her family?
Oh hell no...
Arnav had to stop her. He wasn't ready to lose her again
after he had just only got her back. Even if he hadn't known she was his
Chippu, Arnav wouldn't have let Khushi sacrifice herself. Because she meant everything
to him...
He knew how it felt to have choices in life...
And as that thought came in his mind, suddenly a new door
opened. A new possibility dawned. What if that bloody jerk was back? The one
from whom he had so desperately tried to protect his Chippy. Because no one
could have known Chippu except,
That asshole, Avinash Mehta...

Awww, I loved the pic of the two kids ! So damn sweet! Very glad to see that chapters will be having chippu-rinnie parts from now on.. Yaaayyy! They both now know about the other but they don't know the other knows about them too! yes, that was a short update...but we are more clear that Arnav knows that Khushi is his chippu...and he is determined to protect her...knowing that she will try n sacrifice herself...thats very logical thinking n i loved it...childhood fb was so cute...update soon
