Chapter 19
Hellos people!!
Here is another part of PrAja series Coincidentally Yours!!! Give it a try...
Part 19 - Restless!
Pratap reached home in the evening. The home felt more empty than it was. Thinking about all the events happened at the mall, trying to shake those out of his mind, he went to freshen up. He took a shower, taking a long time but that could not lessen his uneasiness.
He had dinner with Ranima in silence and waited for his father and their guest, his Ajab! to return home. Tonight was important for him. He had appeared in his exams and was awaiting results of tender. He wanted to stay with his family more.
Every moment of wait, was becoming difficult for him. He couldn't understand the restless he was feeling. Was it because of the tender or that stranger or was there anything more?
When Ranaji entered home, the usual spark in his eyes was missing. Ajabde too just walked in. No rushing. No jumping. No shouting ... They gave a tired smile to Ranima and went straight to freshen up.
Later Ranima served them dinner as he was trying to look busy and normal with some random magazine lying in the hall. Ajabde told Ranima about her last part of learning, of reconciliation, closing and cleaning up accounts and records. They shared a small smile when Ajabde nudged Ranaji to say something.
With efforts, Ranaji cleared his throat and directly told Jaiwantabaiji and indirectly to Pratap, about how wonderful time they had with Ajabde around. She mixed with everyone so well, in no time. Being a fast learner, she completed her basic training early. She utilised her vacation period well.
Pratap felt something unpleasantly unexpected to come, by the way his Dajiraj was saying all that like a speech, that too out of the blue. Shouldn’t he be the topic of the day?
How she became just like their daughter, who spoiled him the most and made them so happy. He finished saying Ajabde's training was over and she didn't need to work as his PA anymore. Raoji had called in the evening, Hansabaiji and he was back in town and wanted to see their daughter if she was done here.
"I asked him, if she could stay a little more..." Ranaji put his hand on her head lovingly as she smiled. Jaiwantabaiji also smiled, as Pratap could not gather what was just said.
"Then what will she do?" Asked Pratap standing up but Ranaji just smiled "Good luck for tomorrow, son", and headed to his room for some rest. Pratap opened his mouth but Ranima patted his back, asking him to rest as well and they left, leaving baffled Pratap. Nobody cared to answer him, making things worse.

Ajabde sensed his uneasiness. When he retired from the hall to go to his room, she asked him for a walk in the in-house garden they had.
The walk was a silent one. Not even Ajabde said anything. Pratap was busy listening to the slight tinkle of her anklets, when she walked.
He was confused. More he was unsure of where the things were heading to. There was something bothering him heavily since he was back from mall today. There were lots of thoughts and questions running in his mind.
Waiting for him to sort his internal struggle, Ajabde finally broke the silence "Anything wrong?"
Pratap's mind jumped, forcing him to speak out all the things which were not right. He looked at her curious eyes and calmed self, thought for a second
"You ditched today's ice cream plan?" but he could say this much, much to his own dismay.
Ajabde chuckled, tapping hand on her forehead. "Sorry... got late. Abhi chale?"
Let ice cream help us calm down, if it can! She could think this much.
"It's okay... Some other time" Walking beside her, felt more calming than what ice-cream could have done.

Why some other time? Why not now? They could have gone for ice cream right away.

Ajabde is done and will soon go home. That is also putting a damper on the mood.

Everyone is down in the dumps today. The tender is one big part of it. But also, there is the feeling the person you like may like someone else.
