Part 20 - Left out!

The next day was a quite one. Ajabde reached early for the morning pooja. Pratap took blessings of god, then his parents. Ajabde managed not to irk him, while having breakfast. They left early for the office. The morning routine went mechanically like usual, until the moment of tender opening declaration came. Everyone at the office was holding breath. Ajabde had left with Rawatji, since they entered the office. Pratap was little nervous, while Ranaji maintained his composure, waiting for Rawatji to come with the result.

Chakrapani and Saubhagyawati, along with other departmental heads rushed to the conference hall behind Rawatji, as he seriously went to Ranaji, to tell him the news first.

"Rawatji?" Ranaji stood up as he entered the hall.

Rawatji just nodded to the boss and hugged a surprised Pratap with a broad grin

"You did it Kunwarsa"

Woah!!

A loud roar of applause rang through the hall. Not only his team but entire conference room and office went all cheery and happy as they received the project. Everyone congratulated him after he hugged and took blessings of his Dajiraj, who was super happy and proud. His eyes ran in the whole area looking for a specific person, to be part of this victorious moment of his life.

But surprisingly she did not come back with Rawatji. She was not present at the moment but turned up before his happiness dropped even a bit. Her tinkles made first appearance, before she entered the room with an old man and that stranger man at her toe. A relieved smile appeared before the frown at his forehead, as the new entrants reached them.

Rawatji looked at the old man, with a look Pratap couldn't gather and then congratulated Ajabde "We did it" at the same time she said happily.

"Jinx" Ranaji chuckled as Pratap shook his head.

"Surtan Singhji here?" Chakrapani asked surprised, to see the old man, under whom he completed his Factory production training. Everyone was confused, as instead of the man,  Ajabde announced

"Surtan Singhji is the gentleman of our production department, who is providing his valuable services since years to our Company... and to our competitors" Chakri raised eyebrows at her last words. She looked at Ranaji, who gestured her to continue.

"Being our senior most trusted employee, he had most of the crucial accesses and rights in our system, which made it easy to steal company's legal and confidential information and break the tenders since past few years" gasps ran across the room while Chakri could not believe it. "He even meddled with the inventory data" As all the eyes were on Ajabde, the man tried to escape but blocked by Shakti Singh, the stranger man.

Security guards took Surtan Singh in custody, waiting for the orders for what to do with the offender.

"Thank you officer" Udai singhji shook hand with Ajabde Punwar for successful completion of their mission. The last word made everyone surprised and left Pratap shocked.

Who officer? What officer?

The project was received, the culprit was caught, damages were identified. Today, Udai Singhji was a happier man and super proud of his children.

Ajabde thanked Shakti Singh, nephew of Rawat Chundawatji, a qualified technical expert, who helped them in the mission, to find the culprit by identifying the breach of access and solve security issues. Whispers and muffed voices heard in the entire room as no one knew, it was more than having won a tender.

Ranaji smiled "Good job, young man" as he looked at the proud Rawatji.

Shakti put an assuring hand on Ajabde's shoulder and left with the security guards at her nod. As they marched away, other staff of the office started to disperse. The congratulated the team and left resuming their work. Only Ranaji, Rawatji, Pratap and Ajabde stayed back in the room.

Pratap needed few answers.

Pratap's mind ran, trying to accept sudden turn of events and gathering all what he knew and what he was not aware about. In the process he was staring at the girl, to have a glimpse of a person he thought, he knew all this while.

"So is this why, Chakri had issues in matching simple stock taking process? or why Patta could not disable few right protect access in his applications?" Pratap asked to no one in particular.

"Yes. And this is why Miss Punwar was here." Rawatji smiled at surprised Pratap "Training with people to know them in detail, talked to and jelled up with so many officers and everyone at the office and factory to get secret information for Ranaji" Rawatji continued the information.

"She was here to keep an eye..."

"And this is why, my brilliant investigation officer, had to stay in our home, so that no one could have a doubt on my daughter" Udai Singhji expalined more "and we could have that Thele wali chaay after ages, so that she could be in touch with Shakti regularly, who was our Khabri (spy) at opponent's place" he chuckled, making Rawatji and Ajabde laugh.

"Hence, the obsession"

Pratap scoffed at the mention. And at what all he thought through out!

"And why I don't know Shakti Singh?" He asked Rawatji.

"He was merely an infant, when my sister moved out of India with her husband" Rawatji reasoned "And he was on a visit, just on time"

adding, to which Pratap just nodded.

"Fair enough?" Ranaji asked, sharing a glance with the other two.

"Sab ko sab pata tha..." Pratap huffed, clearly feeling left out in this journey.
