Part 5- A Day full of Surprises

Anuj:" Anu..Anu.. ye kya.. "

She had never said this to him.. he knew, but she had never said it, she had said It indirectly or through her gestures a million times.. but never directly.. she had never said it before..neither in front of everyone, nor alone.. but today she had clearly written it on her palm.. for the world to see..

He was driven out of this trance by Anu's voice.. she said,

Anu:"Main aapse bohot bohot bohot pyaar karti hu Anuj"

Anuj:" Wait.. what did you say.. kya..kya kaha tumne?"

Anu blushed, and shook her bholuram by the shoulders..

Anu:" Anoooooojjj maine kaha ..

I love you.."

Anuj(starting to realise and smile):"Kya.."

Anu(blushing even more):"Hu tamne prem karu chu Anuj"

Yes.. she had said it.. she had said what his heart has yearned to hear forever.. he knew she loved her.. and she had expressed it through actions a lot of times.. she had said those 7 magical words .. he was ecstatic that day too.. but a small part of his heart still wished to hear those 3 magical words from her.. he wished that everytime he said I love you to her.. she'd say I love you too.. but he told himself that he was being too greedy... and shut that wish deep into his heart.. but today she had fulfilled his unexpressed wish.. she had said it thrice.. she had written it on her palm.. her mehendi consisted of a heart like the one she'd drawn on his hand.. and inside the heart, she'd written - "Hu tamne prem karu chu Anuj" in gujarati.. and on her fingers, she had written " I Love You Anuj ♡" one word on each finger and the the heart on her thumb..

Anuj was overwhelmed.. he didn't know what to say.. so he just hugged her tight, and picked her up and twirled her around.. she was crying happy tears, just like him, and clutched at his shoulders tight.. but she didn't stop him.. she knew he won't ever let her fall..

Anuj:"I.. I love you Anu.. I love you so much..

Thank you so much for the surprise baby.. I love you.. I LOVE YOU"

Anu blushed as he set her down.. but she didn't let go of him.. she held him tight and buried her face in his chest.. as he wrapped his arms around her once again..

Anu(whispered): "I love you too Anuj"

He kissed her hair... and placed his chin on her head..

A few peaceful moments later..

Anu:" Anuj.."

Anuj:"Hmm"

Anu:" aapke liye ek aur surprise hai"

Anuj, slowly pulling away.. raised his eyebrows..

Anu:" Dikhau?"

Anuj nodded.. and she slowly started sliding her pallu off from one side...

Anuj:" Anu.. ye sab abhi.. bahar sablog hain.. aur shaadi me toh bas do hi din baaki hain toh.."

Anu(a bit annoyed):" Aap chup rahiye jara do minute.. kuch bhi sochte rehte hain aap.. "

and she adjusted the pallu a bit to the side... and then shifted the top of her blouse a little bit..

And Anuj saw her surprise..

She had got a permanent tattoo of his name on the left side of her chest.. near her heart..

He was speechless...yet again..

After a few seconds ..

Anuj: "Anu ye.. ye kyu.. kab.. tumhe dard hua hoga na.. "

Anu:" Nahi dard nahi hua.. main aapka diya hua gulaab apne haath me pakad ke bas aapke baare me soch rahi thi.."

Anuj:" Par tumne ye kyu.."

Anu:" Woh maine socha ki ye mehendi ka rang toh kuch din me utar jaayega.. par mujhe aapka naam humesha ke liye likhna tha.. isiliye.."

She continued..

Anu:" Kanhaji ne toh pehle se mere mann me aapka naam likh diya tha.. maine toh bas upar se likha hai.. aur kal maine shayri se woh.. kya kehte hain.. hint.. hint bhi diya tha.. "

Anuj recollected what she'd said..

"Jinka naam hai dil pe humaare aisa likha,

jo kabhi na mitega"

But never in his wildest dreams had he thought that one day she'll have a tattoo of his name near her heart!!!!

He didn't know what to say.. what to do..

He slowly tried to touch the tattoo.. but hesitated.. Anu understood and placed his hand on it.. he caressed it lovingly.. with a sweet and contented smile on his face..

Anu(slowly): "Anuj.. ab hume jaa kar taiyyar ho jaana chahiye.. 6.15 ho rahe hain.. mukku ne 7 baje tak ready hone ke liye kaha tha.."

Anuj:" Hmm.. chalo tumhari baaki ki sukhi hui mehendi nikalne me main help kardeta hun.."

In a hurry to show him his mehendi.. she had removed the dry mehendi only from her palms.. the backside and the rest of her hands were still left..

He sat her down on the bed, and pulled a chair to sit in front of her, held one of her hands with both of his, and started working on removing her dry mehendi.. along with that, he'd leaned close to her, and was peppering her cheek and jawline with soft kisses.. Anu had lost control of all her senses, with him kissing her face and his hands touching her hand.. when he got done with one hand.. he started with the another.. and simultaneously shifted to the other cheek..

When he was done with both the hands.. he held them and lovingly looked at the dark mehendi on her hands.. his name on her hands.. he loved the smell of mehendi.. he took her hands and smelled it.. and gently kissed her palms.. she was just smiling..

There was a loud knock on the door, and Mukku and Devika barged in.. Anu had quickly fixed her blouse and pallu.. and showed them her mehendi.. both of them were as happy as Anuj.. they both had seen him go through so much for his love... and it made them so happy to see him finally receive the love he'd always deserved..

Devika:" Waise mehendi ka rang bohot dark aaya hai.. par usse bhi zyada dark toh Anu tere gaalo ka rang lag raha hai.."

Anu blushed even more.. if that was possible.. as Anuj looked intently at her cheeks to see if it was true..

Mukku:" Haan baat toh sahi hai.. bhai I know aap 26 saal se intezaar kar rahe ho par abhi aapke romance ke chakkar mein mere surprise ke liye late hojayega na.. maine baaki sabko surprise ke baare me bata diya hai.. aap dono jaldi ready hojao.. phir hume nikalna hai.. Anu ye lo isme tumhare liye kapde hain.. ye pehen lena.. aur bhai.. tumhare kapde tumhare ghar me hain.. chalo chalke change karlo.."

Anuj:" Ok bacchi tum dono jao mujhe Anu se bas do min baat karni hai.. phir main aata hu.. pakka"

He convinced them to leave..

And told Anu.. mujhe tumhe kuch dikhana hai..

Anu:"Kya"

Anuj removed his kurta and Anu found herself staring at his muscular arms.. she came back to her senses as Anuj whistled and then laughed..

Anuj:" Jab tum mujhe aise dekhti hona.. tab lagta hai ki itne saal gym jaana, itni mehnat karke body banana.. was all worth it.."

Then he slid the strap of his vest a bit aside.. and Anu saw that he had a tattoo on his shoulder.. which said Anupama..

Anu was surprised

Anu:" Anuj.. ye.."

Anuj:" Bohot saalo pehle karwaya tha Anu.. US me.. par ye tattoo karwaane ke baad mujhe bohot guilty feel ho raha tha.. ki maine bina tumhaari consent ke tumhaare naam ka tattoo banwaaya jab tum kisi aur ki thi.. aaj tak ye baat GK ke alawa kisiko nahi pata. Kisine nahi dekha ye tattoo.. "

Anu, (wanting to have some fun): "Accha.. par woh.. aapki suraj dhalne se leke subha tak ki saathi.. unhone toh dekha hoga na.."

Anuj:" Anu.. I'm really sorry about that..main humesha apne aap ko kaam me itna busy rakhta tha ki tumhe yaad karke dukhi honeka ya tumhe miss karneka time hi na mile..par.. kabhi kabhi akelapan itna khalta tha.. tumhari itni yaad aati thi.. ki mujhe lagta tha mujhe ek partner ki zarurat hai.. par main kabhi bhi unn mese kisike saath bhi emotionally involve nahi ho paya.. "

Anu:" Anuj, please aise mat kahiye.. main toh mazaak kar rahi thi.. jabse mujhe aapse pyaar hua hai tabse main toh aapke bina 26 saansein bhi nahi le paati.. main soch bhi nahi sakte aap 26 saal kaise rahe honge.. meri wajahse aapko kitna dard mila hoga.."

Anuj:" Shhhh.. ab itni khushi mil rahi hai ki lagta hai woh dard kuch bhi nahi hai.. aur tumne hi toh kaha tha na.. ki sundar sapne pura hone se pehle bohot intezaar karwaate hain.. ab main jaun? Warna Mukku naraaz ho jaayegi.."

Anu nodded.. and kissed the tattoo on his shoulder..

Anuj froze.. this was turning out to be a day full of surprises for him.. his Anu had kissed him for the first time..

Anuj:" Anu.. ye... tumne toh kaha tha ye shaadi ke baad.. toh...phir?"

Anu (blushing):" Raha nahi gaya mujhse.."

Anuj smiled some more at this..

Anuj:" Ab main jaun?"

Anu:" Aise jaayenge aap bahar.. toh kya sochenge sab log..kurta toh pehen lijiye"

Anuj realised he was still in his vest..

Anuj:" If you don't mind.. tum hi pehena do na"

Anu looked at him in mild shock... but then she relented.. and helped him wear the kurta.. and lovingly buttoned it up..

Anu:" Hogaya...ab jaiye.."

Anuj quickly pecked her cheek and left the room with a huge smile on his face, leaving a smiling and blushing Anupama behind..
