PART 3 - #MAANKIHALDI

The night of their engagement, Anu's mom, who was staying with her, insisted that they would sleep together till the wedding, she wanted to spend time with her daughter before her wedding.. Anu agreed and excused herself for a second , and under the pretext of setting an alarm on the phone.. she sent a quick text to Anuj

The text read : Anuj, main maa ke saath hi so rahi hun, toh raatko phone mat kijiyega

Before she could even exit the application there was a reply..

The chat continued as follows:

Anuj: 😕 okk good night  shona😘😘

Anu: good night😊

Anuj: maine itne pyaar se shona bola.. kiss bhi bheja.. aur tum 😕😕

Anu: 😂😂

Anu's mom: "Anu kitni der laga rahi hai alarm hua ki nahi"

Anu hurriedly set the alarm and went to sleep beside her..

While Anuj sighed and lay down on his bed, looking at Anu's photo on his wallpaper.. and said..

Anuj: "Anu, aaj bohot pareshan kiya hai na mujhe.. ab meri baari.. dekho ab main kya kya karta hun.."

He smiles thinking about his plans and drifts to sleep, dreaming about romancing his Anu..

And Anu, is still lost in that one moment where Anuj, after slipping the ring onto her finger, pretending to hold her hand to get up.. placed a soft kiss on her hand.. and winking at her, got up and acted extremely normal, while she was having a hard time keeping her emotions and expressions in check! Reliving those sweet memories, she let sleep takeover her..

The next morning, the entire family had a video call, to make last minute plans for the haldi ceremony in the evening..

It was decided that everyone would first go to Anuj's apartment to apply haldi to him, and then to Anu's apartment.. but the bride and groom wouldn't be allowed to see each other the entire day.. Both of them protested, but were outnumbered..

After the video call, the families came over for the decorations at both the apartments..

Anu and Anuj were not allowed to do any work, they were just asked to sit in their rooms and rest..

Anuj sent a message to Anu, it read :

Log chahe jo bhi kahe, aaj main apni Anu ko haldi laga kar rahunga

Mera intezaar karna😘

Aur bhulna mat, tumhari saza aur mera badla.m dono baaki hai😏

She just read it and smiled to herself.. she was anticipating his punishment, his touch on her while applying haldi, and she was very eager to see him.. but didn't want to tell him, but he knew..his Anu was as crazy for him as he was for her..

After the decorations at both the apartments, everyone got dressed for the function. Anuj was wearing a yellow Kurta and white Pajama, looking like a delicious mango dolly, while Anu was looking gorgeous in a plain yellow lehenga, with an embroidered blouse, which was short enough to expose a part of her waist, and the dupatta pinned on one side covered just half of it. Her hair was done up in a bun, and she was wearing floral ornaments in her hands, ears and neck..

She was left alone in her room as everyone went to Anuj's apartment.. she wished she could be there too, and just imagined everyone applying to him, running their hands over his cheek, how she wished she could feel his stubble, hold his face, and put some yellow on it.. she put a brake on her imagination and checking her reflection in the mirror, saw that she was blushing hard, she knew she did that a lot nowadays and smiled, all thanks to Anuj.. her Anuj.. who had not only restored her smile, but also her self-confidence, her dreams, her faith in love, etc..

She realised she had been thinking about him for more than an hour now..and hit herself on the head saying, "Pagal Chokri"

In a few minutes, everyone returned from Anuj's apartment, and brought her outside, and sat her on the sofa, and one by one applied haldi to her, teasing and having fun in between, as they had done with Anuj..

After everyone had successfully colored her yellow, she excused herself to go to the washroom.. as she stepped inside her room and closed the door behind her, she heard someone tapping the window, she went there and saw that Anuj had thrown a rope near her window such that it stuck there.. and climbed up with the support of the pipe , and was clutching it tight with two feet and one hand, and was frantically tapping the window with the other hand.. she was so scared something would happen to him

She opened the window with trembling hands, helped him inside and just hugged him tight, sobbing, and he was trying to calm her down

Anuj: "Anu..Anu ro kyu rahi ho, maine kaha tha na ki main tumhe haldi lagane aaunga..tum agar aisa nahi chahti toh it's okay main waapas chala jaata hun kisiko nahi pata chalega"

Anu, still breathing heavily :" Aapko.. aapko kuch ho jaata toh, aise 2 floor upar pipe se kaun aata hai.. woh bhi sirf haldi lagane, aapme meri jaan basti hai anuj aapko kuch ho jaata toh mein kya karti."...and started crying again

Anuj:" Anu main bilkul theek hun mujhe kuch nahi hua dekho tumhare saamne khada hu.. aur Ishq mein thoda sa risk toh banta haina mohotarma"

Anu:" Chup..bilkul chup.. aapko humesha khatron ke khiladi banna hota haina.. pehle aap akele the.. aapki zindagi par sirf aapka haq tha.. ab aap mere hain.. aap par mera haq hai Anuj.. aap aise mere Anuj ki jaan ko khatre me nahi daal sakte aise hero banke.. " and continued to scold him..

Anuj:" Are Anu bas bhi karo na..kitna daatogi.."

Anu still continued paying no heed to him..

Anuj:" Accha baba sorry next time aisa nahi karunga.. ab daantna bandh karo warna mujhe band karwaana aata hai.."

Anu, still angry: "Accha.. kaise..?"

Anuj took a few steps towards her.. as she moved backwards and collided with the wall behind.. he placed one hand on the wall beside her head, and leaned towards her, and almost touched his lips to her, so close, that even if any one of them dared to move even to breath, their lips would touch.. he stayed there for a few seconds, then shifted his face near her ears,

Anuj(whispered): "Anu, ab tumhaari daant khatam hogayi ya main...."

He stepped back and looked at her face..

She was blushing because of the closeness, still a little angry at his stunt, stunned as his action and also a bit annoyed as he hadn't completed what he was going to do (though she wouldn't admit the last one ofcourse 😂)

Satisfied that she wasn't going to scold him further, he stepped on step closer, but she turned away and walked towards the door..

He went behind her and held her by her waist..

She had barely managed to recover from his previous act, and now, his touch on her bare waist drove her crazy again..

Anuj kept his head on her right shoulder, and said in her ear,

Anuj: "woh humaare hain ab par,

Sabne laga diya ye peela rang unpar, humaare sivaa

Ab baari humaari hai ki,

Ye haldi unhe lagakar, kare hum apna haq adaa"

Anuj:" Anu, kya main tumhe haldi laga sakta hu?"

Anu knew how badly he wanted to apply haldi to her, and even though she was his, and he knew she wouldn't mind him applying haldi to her, still being the gentleman he was, was asking for her consent to touch her, even 2 days before their love marriage...

So she nodded..

He smiled, held her hand and pulled her towards the door..

Anuj:" Chalo"

Anu: " Kahaan?"

Anuj:" Bahaar.. tumne hi uss din kaha tha na.. Chup kar lagaya toh kya lagaya.. ab main sabke saamne haq se apni Anu ko haldi lagaunga..chalo"

Anu didn't resist and followed him..

As they stepped out of the room, holding hands, everyone looked at them, shocked..

Anuj:" Main yahaan apni Anu ko haldi lagane aaya hun.. isme kuch galat nahi hai toh chup chup ke nahi karna chahta tha.."

Anuj(to Anu's mom):  "Maa, kya mai aapki beti ko haldi laga sakta hun?"

Anu's mom smiled and said yes..

He made Anu sit, took some haldi and bent down on his knees, lifted her skirt to her ankles and applied the haldi on her feet... expressing his devotion towards her..

Then applied haldi to her hands and then took some haldi from his cheeks, and applied it on her cheeks.. he wanted to rub his cheek on hers.. but knew that Anu would be uncomfortable in front of everyone..

Then he held her face with his hands, and kissed her forehead..

She took some haldi and was about to bend down to his feet, but he stopped her, and moved his head sideways to indicate a no.. she tried to protest with her eyes.. but he didn't let her..

She finally applied the haldi on his face with all the love she had for him..

And everyone was overwhelmed seeing their love and devotion towards each other..

Then the families sent Anu and Anuj to freshen up and change in their rooms, while the rest of the families cleaned up both the houses, and arranged dinner in Anu's apartment, and they all had dinner together..

This time, they didn't let Anu and Anuj sit together.. they sat opposite each other.. but Anuj and Anu kept playing with and touching each other's feet under the table..

Looking at their smiles and red faces, Devika figured out what was happening, but didn't have the heart to stop those two lovebirds..

Mukku noticed too.. and just prayed that their love became stronger and their lives be full of happiness always..

Hope you like the part.. It's very long and I'm not sure how good it is because I barely managed to write and post it.. didn't have time to proofread it and have a headache too..

I know the shayri was really crappy this time.. I wrote it in like 2 mins because I really wanted Anuj to say one there.. please forgive the attempt..
