Hello everyone!!
Thank you so much for your reactions and encouraging comments, each one of them brings a huge smile on my face and makes my day..
Here's the engagement, yeah, FINALLY, and this is a bit longer than the other parts..

Part 2C - The Engagement!!

Devika was taking Anu to the terrace.. for the engagement. 
Anuj and Mukku were already there.. and so was everyone else.
Anu had decided to act annoyed at Anuj.. as because of him, she was mercilessly teased by Devika.. but she had enjoyed the teasing too.. so she thought she'll pretend to be annoyed at him after the engagement.. for some time.. and then tell him she was just kidding..

After their engagement.. everyone leaves, and Anupama and Anuj are left alone..
Anu doesn't talk to Anuj, stands with her back to him..

Anuj:" Arre Anu kya hua.. itna gussa kyu ho mujhse.. maine aisa bhi kya kardiya.. apni hone waali biwi se mil bhi nahi sakta kya main.."

Anu: "woh sab mujhe nahi pata.. aapke aur mukku ke jaane ke baad Devika toh mere peeche hi pad gayi thi.. kitna chidhaya usne mujhe.. aur ab iss baat pe zindagi bhar chidhati rahegi..."

Anuj: "Haan toh main aa gaya toh kya tum jaane le liye nahi keh sakti thi mujhe"

Anu:" Aap jaiye mujhe nahi baat karni aapse kaha ne"

Anuj: "theek hai.. jaata hun.. next time nahi aaunga tumse milne.. "

As he turns away...
Anu runs to him and hugs him from behind, head head pressed on his back, and hands clutching on to his front..

Anu: "Anuj main toh mazaak kar rahi thi😂😂"

Anuj(pouting) : "Aisa mazaak kon karta hai Anu.. tumhe pata haina tum naraaz hoti ho toh meri jaan nikal jaati hai.."

Anu: Suri suri suri 😂

Anuj turns towards her..

Anuj: "Ab galti ki hai toh sirf suri bolnese kaam nahi chalega.. punishment bhi milegi.."

Anu: "Kaisi punishment.."

Anuj, smirking, walks towards her.. as she steps back.. and slowly, her back hits a wall..
Anuj comes very close to her.. so close that they can feel each other's breaths on their faces..
Anu's heartbeats escalate.. Anuj inches a bit more closer.. and Anu was sure she was going to faint in the next few seconds..

"Anu.. Anu.. ANUUUUU"

She feels someone holding her shoulder.. and jerking her.. and realises she was dreaming all this standing at the door of her apartment.. and Devika was shaking her out of her dream to take her to the terrace to her engagement...

Devika:" Tu kahan sapno me kho gayi.. tere sapno ka rajkumar toh wahaan upar tera besabri se wait kar raha hai.. chal ab🤣🤣"

Anupama just blushes at her own imagination.. and lightly hits her head..


They walk to the terrace.. and Samar and Kinjal who are standing by the entrance, shouted, "Mummy aagayiii"

And Anuj, who's eyes were already glued to the entrance since he'd come.. was mesmerized yet again, even though he'd seen her earlier..

As she started walking towards him.. he took his guitar and started singing-" Tujhme Rab Dikhta hai " and his gaze didn't even budge from her eyes.. neither did hers..
She went and stood beside him.. with tears in his eyes.. as he completed the song.. she was smiling.. and so was everyone else.. everyone started hooting, clapping and cheering..

He just smiled looking at her smile too, kept the guitar aside.. and wiped her tears with his hand.. saying;
Anuj: "Ab bas.. tumhe jitna rona tha tumne ro liya.. ab main tumhari aankho me ek aansu bhi nahi aane dunga meri jaan"

And cups her face..
They gaze into each other's eyes lovingly.. not caring about the people watching them..

To break their reverie.. finally, Mukku jumped up to them.. saying

Mukku: " UFFF ye mohabbat"
And everyone else joined in to tease them..

Finally, Bapuji stopped them..

Bapuji: "Baccho ab sagai karlein?"

And everyone gathered around the couple,

It was Anu's turn to put the ring first, so her mom handed her the ring..
Anu bent down on one knee.. and said..
Anu:" Anuj, aapne mujhse do baar pucha tha ki kya main aapse shaadi karungi.. aur maine bhi kayi baar aapko kaha hai main aapse shaadi karna chahti hu.. par maine kabhi aapse toh pucha hi nahi... main jawaab janti hu par phir bhi.. kya aap iss ring ko pehenke, zindagi bhar mere saath rehne ka vaada karenge?"

Anuj, too overwhelmed to speak, just nodded and forwarded his hand, and Anu slipped the ring onto his finger while everyone cheered...

As she was getting up, one of the heels she was wearing  for the first time in her life twisted and broke, and she fell straight into the arms of her prince charming..he helped her sit down on a chair, and before she could protest, he removed her heels and kept them aside..

As she was about to stand.. her held her back and said..

Anuj:" Nahi Anu, yaha tiles bohot uneven hai.. tumhe lag gaya toh"
And picked her up in his arms..and said..
" humesha se thi meri zindagi jiske naam
Aaj woh humaari qurbat me hai, toh kitni haseen hai yeh shaam
Unhone kaha ki woh radhika, aur main shyam
Toh laga jaise ye hi hai, mere 26 saalo ke intezaar ka inaam"

Anupama just smiled..
He raised his brows, asking her permission to put the ring onto her finger.. she shyly nodded.. and he sat her on a chair, sat on one knee and slipped the ring into her finger..
Then he asked samar to go and get a pair of sandals for Anupama and made her wear it..

Anuj: "Kuch yaad aaya Anu?"

Anupama smiled and nodded as she remembered how this cindrella moment had always come before a turning point in their lives.. for the first time before they had become friends.. the next, before they had become lovers, and now, before they began their happily ever after..

Anuj had gone into the flashback mode too..

They only came back to reality when mukku pulled both of them into the middle of a circle od dancing people.. they all danced their hearts out.. and then went to have food.. Anuj had sat beside Anupama during dinner despite the teasing that happened... and even fed her a few bites with his own hands.. Anu shyly did the same..

They were all extremely happy and tired.. and wanted to go home...
But Mukku stood up saying she wanted to make an announcement..

Mukku:" Bhai mujhe pata hai ki aapne apne dost ke saath ek new project join kiya hai, and bhabhi aap apni dance academy me bohot busy ho, par aap dono pleaseeeee aajao na waapas company me.. maine aapse sorry bhi toh kaha hai.. mere liye nahi toh unn aurato ke liye jinhe aap apne reataurant me appoint karne waale they.. atleast uss project ko toh aapko hi handle karna hoga..and.. shaadi ke time bhale hi baarat yahan iss apartment se niklegi.. par aap dono ka grihapravesh Kapadia house mehi hoga.. aur iss baar main kisiki baat nahi manungi.."

After some protests, Anu and Anuj agreed..

Mukku: "Yayyyyy, and bhai don't worry, main aapke bedroom ko shift karwa dungi main door ke paas se.. aur usme double lock waala alag door bhi lagwa dungi, ab aap single thodi ho"

And everyone laughs.. Anu and Anuj embarrassed

Then Anuj says he wants to make an announcement too, and says he and Anu have decided that they would like to get married in the same temple where they went that stormy day, and then they would have a grand reception in one of his friend's 7star hotels.. and all the functions would happen in one of their apartments, except sangeet, which would again take place on the terrace.. but even though it was simple, it would still be grand.. their houses, terrace would be decorated for each function, like it was today, with fairy lights and beautiful white and pink flowers and beautiful backdrops..
And the temple would specially be decorated on their wedding day too.. and they would be wearing designer dresses, not extremely expensive ones, but they wouldn't compromise on the most important and memorable day of their lives..
They had also decided to celebrate their wedding and make it more memorable by going to a shelter for stray animals, donating some money, and spending time with the animals there and feeding them..
And after their wedding, when they were well settled, they would think about adopting a pet too.. as for kids, they most probably didn't want a biological one, as even though it was possible, Anuj didn't want to risk Anu's health, and they might think of adopting one whenever they were ready..

Everyone was happy hearing all this and started leaving for their houses. It was decided that Anu's mom will stay with her until  the wedding, and the rest of both families will keep visiting Anupama and Anuj..

Devika: " Chalo ab hum sab chalte hain, tum dono akele thoda time spend karlo abhi, ab toh 4 din baad seedhe shaadi pe milna tum dono, haan beech beech me functions me miloge.. par sabke saath, akele toh shaadi waali raatko hi chodenge"

Everyone was laughing looking at the faces, and left them alone..

Anu's mom: "beta jaldi aajana main wait karungi tumhaara.."

And they all leave..

Anuj goes with them to close the door of the terrace.. when he turns back, Anu starts starting the female version of Tujhme Rab dikhta hai.. looking at him with all the love and adoration she had for him.. he walks up to her.. and she melts into his embrace.. he kisses her forehead.. and they stay there for sometime..

Anu: "Waise aapko pata hai main aapse naraaz hone waali thi woh shaam ko aise gharme ghusne ke liye.. aur uske liye mujhe devika ne kitna chidhaya.. par aap itne acche hain ki main aapse naaraz bhi nahi ho sakti bolo..."

Anuj: "Accha ji..kitna accha?"

Anu:" Boldu?"

Anuj:"Haan"

Anu: "Pakka boldu?"

Anuj: " Ab bol bhi do na"

Anu: "Aap itne acche hain ki ab maa mere saath rahegi toh aap aise phirse ghar me nahi ghusenge.. shaadi tak sirf video call pe baat karenge aur mujhe bilkul tang nahi karenge.. "
And laughs

Anuj:" Ye aapki galatfehmi hai mohotarma.. aap bas dekhti jaaiye ki main shaadi se pehle aur shaadi ke baad kya kya karta hun"

Anu:" Haan thik hai jo karna ho kar lijiyega.. par abhi toh chaliye.. maa intezaar kar rahi hogi aur kal humaari haldi bhi hai ne.."

Anuj:" ek shart pe.. tum pehle mujhe pyaar se goodnight kaho.."

Anu (smiling):" Good night mere shayar kapadiaji"

Anuj:" aise nahi.. ruko main dikhata hun.."

He stepped closer to her.. kissed her cheek and whispered goodnight.. and gestured towards his cheek..

Anu blushed.. asked him to close his eyes.. he did.. and she ran away..

Anu(from the door): "Good night bholuram😂😂"

Anuj ran behind her shouting:" Anu main iska badla leke rahunga"

She answered,
Anu: "Main intezaar karungi"
and went into her house..

Anuj, loving this naughty side of his Anu and determined to have his revenge, went into his  apartment too...

Ufff that was a realllyyy long one hope y'all didn't mind but I really didn't want to drag the engagement for another part now..

Ik we would all have loved a grand wedding, but I feel as long as they're all happy and satisfied, the other things don't matter.. also the part about animals, I am a huge animal lover and believe in caring for and adopting strays, and the kid part, I feel a family is not just limited to having kids, a couple alone, or with a pet can also be a family... this is what I would like to see in the story, so I wrote it this way..

Do let me know whether y'all liked it.. and again the shayri too please

and I think Tujhme Rab Dikhta Hai song suits them to perfection.... and would love them to perform on it for each other... show ka toh bharosa hai nahi so put it in here..
