Part 2b - Pre-  Engagement romance

After breakfast, Anuj left as he had an important meeting that couldn't be postponed, so he decided to wrap it up by lunchtime and come home before the engagement..

Anu spent the morning getting her matching jewelry and makeup ready to match with the saree.. and reading Anuj's note every alternate minute and smiling and blushing happily thinking about him.. missing him.. wanting to see him and run straight into his arms..

Anuj wrapped up his work and returned home.. but couldn't go to meet Anu, as their families had arrived and were determined not to let them meet before the engagement..

Mukku was with Anuj, and Devika with Anu, in their respective apartments, helping them get ready, teasing them and making sure they don't sneak out to meet each other. The rest of the family members were on the terrace, doing the the last minute preparations.

(Anuj's apartment)

When Anuj was ready, and just setting his hair.. Mukku started shouting..

Mukku: "Kya bhai yaar.. ek ghante se baal set kiye jaa rahe ho.. apne honeymoon pe bhi aisa hi karoge kya.. aur phir aap bolte ho bichari bhabhi ko ki woh daant ti hain.. aise karoge toh pakka chappal se maaregi woh"

Anuj:" Bacchi kya bol rahi hai tu.."

Mukku :" Kya bacchi bacchi.. chalo niklo room se bahaar jaakar baitho.. mujhe ready hona yaha"

And before he could protest she pushed him out of his own bedroom and locked the door..

(Meanwhile, at Anu's apartment)

Devika had helped her wear that gorgeous saree, and some light makeup, and had styled her open hair too, giving her light curls..

Devika: " Oh ho.. aaj toh Anuj pakka behosh hone waala hai"

Anu :" Chup karne Devika.. jabse se aayi bas mujhe chida rahi hai.. main bahar jaake woh wall mirror me dekh ke jewellery pehen lungi.. tu yahan par ready hoja"

She goes out into the living room, while Anuj, bored and terribly missing her, decides to take a chance and go see her..

He sneaks out of his house quietly, comes to her door and is about to knock, hoping that it would be Anu who opens the door and not Devika..

Anuj (to himself): "Yaar Anu daategi toh nahi na?"

The very next moment

Anuj(to himself) :" Aaj uski daant to kya, belan, chimta, chappal sabse maar kha lunga.. bas mujhe usse dekhna hai"

And lightly knocks on the door..

Anu thinks it must be someone from her family and opens the door, and sees Anuj there.. she is spellbound seeing him, more handsome than ever, proudly wearing her gift..

Anuj is mesmerized too.. and keeps looking at her, dazed...

Anu looks at his eyes.. never leaving her even for a second.. shies away.. and goes to the mirror..

She had one diamond earring on, the other was still in her hand.. and the necklace and bangles on the table..

Anuj, trying to come out of his daze,

Anuj: " Kismat ne aaj phir ek haseen shaam sajayi hai

Ishq ke rang me saj kar, woh humare liye ayi hai"

Anu smiles a bit more, still looking into the mirror, with her back to him, anticipating and wondering what comes next..

Anuj walks up toh her... stands very close behind her.. his sturdy chest almost touching her back.. making her go weak in the knees.. his cologne driving her crazy..

He puts his arms around her, holds her hand and takes the earring from it, and just as she felt she would faint..

He withdraws his hands.. gently moving away her hair to one side he places the earring on her ear, and bends forward to place a gentle kiss on her earlobe.. then, not moving away even by an inch, his lips still by her ear.. whispers..

Anuj : " Kitne khubsurat hain aaj woh

Kaise unhe ye bataye

Kahin is jahaan ke saare shabd bhi

Unki tareef me kam na pad jaaye"

Anu just smiles and blushes..

He continues..

"Tum bohot acchi lag rahi ho Anu, nazar hi nahi hatt rahi, par aaj.. sorry nahi kahunga.. ab toh mujhe haq hai tumhe dekhne ka.. haina Anu?"

She nods...

When she doesn't speak for sometime.. Anuj turning her around and taking her hand in his.. makes her wear all the bangles one by one.. while the butterflies in her stomach keep on increasing..

He is done with one hand and sensuously runs his fingers over it..starting from his wrist to just above her elbow.. making her shiver with pleasure and anticipation.. he slowly lowers her hand.. takes the other hand.. and starts putting on bangles there too.. and asks..

Anuj :" Maine tumhari itni tareef ki... aankhon se bhi aur shabdon se bhi.. tum kuch nahi kahogi..?"

Anu: "Kya kahu?"

Anuj:" Jo bhi tum kehna chaho"

Anu: "Mukku sahi keh rahi thi..."

Anuj:" Kya .. mukku isme kahanse aayi.. kya meh rahi thi?"

Anu:" Yahi ki ab aap dukhi shayri ki jagah romantic shayri likhenge😊"

Anuj raises his eyebrows, and decides to tease her..

Anuj :" Are mohotarma aapne abhi humaari romantic shayri suni kahan hai.. ek baar shaadi ho jaane dijiye.. shayri kya.. puri novel likhenge... (whispers) aapke saath"

Before Anu could react on this.. he continues..

Anuj:" Par main yeh puch raha tha ki tum mujhe ye batao ki main aaj kaisa lag raha hun"

Anu (in a low voice, with a smile) :" Mein kya kahu.. aap toh kuch bhi pehen le.. hero hi lagte hain.."

Anuj:" Kuch bhi Anu?"

Anu:" Haan"

Anuj (smirking): " Accha toh zara ye batana ye kuch bhi me kya kya include hota hai?"

Anu, still not getting at what he was hinting, says..

Anu: " matlab kurta, shirt, tshirt, coat, kuch bhi..."

Anuj: "Bas, itna hi..?

Hmm waise baat toh sahi hai.. tumne toh mujhe inhi sab me dekha hai.. par main kabhi kabhi isse bhi zyada handsome lagta hun.."

Anu: " Accha toh bataiye kab.."

Anuj:" Boldu?"

Anu :"haan"

Anuj (moving closer): "Boldu?"

Anu trying hard to breathe:" hmm"

Anuj..now grinning.. inches closer to her.. almost touching her lips.. says..

Anuj : " Abhi nahi Anu, shaadi ke baat bataunga.."

Anu, who suddenly realises what was happening all this while, gives him a slight push and rushes away.. taking her necklace.. and trying to hook the clasp.. she is still shivering, and she is not able to think clearly, and in the process, her necklace ends up getting stuck.. Anuj sees this.. goes and helps her to untangle the necklace and wear it properly..

Anu, taking deep breaths, trying to gain control of her senses.. says..

Anu:" Aap.. aap yaha kyu.."

Anuj: " Kyu.. apni hone waali biwi se milne nahi aa sakta?"

Anu: " Haan.. par.. woh..woh Devika.. mukku.. gharme..sab terrace pe.."

Anuj : " I know humaari family hai but hume milne kaha dete hain ye log.. bas chidate rehte hain.. Anu.. maine tumhe aaj bohot miss kiya.. "

Anu: " maine bhi.. main toh subhe se aapko dekhna chahti thi aapko gale lagana chahti ....."

Suddenly realising what she had said without thinking.. turned away.. blushing..

Anuj was ecstatic.. smirking, he went close to her.. was about to hug her..

When.. the doorbell rang.. the person at the door was continuously ringing the bell, banging at the door, and shouting kholo kholo..

Anu rushed to open the door.. and Mukku barged in.. screaming..

Mukku:" ye kya bhai.. aapko 10 min akela kya choda aap toh yahan bhabhi ke saath romance karne aa gaye.."

Hearing all the commotion, Devika came out too.. and one look at the three people, understood what had happened.. she went and pulled Anuj's ear... saying..

Devika :" Bohot besharam hogaya hai tu.. aur Anu tu bhi.. aadhe ghante me sagai hai.. par wait nahi hua na tum dono se.. 5 min kya chod diya inhe ye toh ... "

Anu, finally said:" Meri galti nahi hai, main toh tayyar ho rahi thi ye aagaye toh  mein.."

Devika: " Kya mein mein.. woh aagaya aur tune aarti utar ke uska swagat kiya hoga na.. ek bhi baar bola usse jaane ke liye? "

Anuj, eager to defend himself:" nahi bola..bola hota toh main chala jaata.."

Anu glared at him

Devika and Mukku, unable to control anymore, started laughing hysterically.. embarrassing the two of them more..

Devika:" Mukku.. ab ja leja apne iss aashiq bhai ko.. aur Anu, maine na tera makeup karke galti kardi.. itna makeup waste hogaya.. tujhe toh naturally hi blush karna tha.."

After some more teasing, Mukku left with Anuj, to his apartment and Devika took Anu to add some last touches to her look..

I'm sorry I had promised the engagement in this part but I really didn't have the heart to cut down on their romance..😭

Hope you guys don't mind..

The next part will PAKKA have the engagement.. maarna mat mujhe🥺

Also the shayri this time is probably not even as good as last time,  will try harder next time!
