Chapter 1
Wearing her favourite lime green salwaar kameez with dupatta that had 'salma sitara', Mehek looked ger best in open straight hair, some silver chaand baalis and tan bellies. Ordering for some white orchids, she grabbed her car keys and drove towards Airport leaving a shouting Meera behind who was worried about the prospective suitor that was too come that very evening to see Mehek.
She was at the airport, holding the bunch of white orchids and waiting anxiously for him. "Why the hell is this plane so late!" She was cursing the airlines not understanding the fact that she was early and not the plane was late. The wait was killing her. She waited for ten damn years but this wait was toughest of all. Ten years have been a century for her. Gosh! How much she missed him.
"Mehek please don't do this to me." A young Shaurya almost cried holding her hand. "I only have you in my life after Mom. Mom left me, but tu mujhe door mat kar. Please." His pleas were making it tough for her to let him go. "I promised to Uncle that I'll ready you. Please Shaurya. Will you like it if I won't be able to fulfil my promise?" Mehek was tied to her promise. She can't be selfish. She was to think of his future too. The only person he hated was his mean Dad. Knowing that she talked to him, Shaurya grew angry. "Okay. I'll be going and i won't return before ten years. And, you will not be in touch with me and that's your punishment." She had seen the bloodshot eyes. He went from the park throwing the paper he had written something on for her. That was the last she saw him.
Carefully taking out the very same paper she read it to herself, "To my one and only best friend Mehek, I want to tell you that I love you. Please never leave me. Yours, Shaurya." . She had kept it safely till date. She heard the announcement of his flight and she grew nervous. After about half an hour of landing of the flight, she could see a man with well built body, subtle beard clad in three piece suit. Her heart skipped a beat. She wanted to run and hug him but airport had their rules. It wasn't much time that life doomed for her. She saw a fairly tall model like skinny girl clinging to him and he had held her closely. She saw him walking towards her. Not giving up on her hopes, she stood as enthusiastically as possible and looked forward to see the very same Shaurya she saw ten years back. Everything shattered when he walked past her and didn't even look at her. While she was collecting the broken pieces of her heart she got a tap on her shoulder.
"Are you Mehek Sharma?" She heard a familiar but bit textured voice. She turned and looked at him. Shaurya stood amazed. He knew of a tomboy Mehek who was his best friend once upon a time in Delhi. "Hmm." She replied not looking at him. "Oh my god! That's really you?" He was shocked to see her. "I'm so happy. I'm glad it's you who got to me the love of my life." He looked at the model sorta girl. "Meet Shruti. And Shruti, this is Mehek." He introduced. Mehek stated some emergency at home and excused.
"Where this Mehek is? Rahil and his parents are waiting for her." Meera was worried. Mehek was twenty eight now and mothers worry for their unmarried daughters. Nehal came and told her she saw Mehek coming from balcony. Meera told her to bring her from back door and make her presentable and bring her. Nehal did the same. Rahil and his family loved her and it was on Mehek now and to Meera's surprise she said a yes unlike all other times she chased away the good suitors. Ab ruke bhi toh kiske liye?
To Be Continued...
Wrote for the people who wanted to read more from me. There's one or two more installments for this one but, but there's a condition. Will only be continued when I receive 30 likes on this one. Yes, I'm greedy that way but trust me it takes a lot to pen more chapters to a story than writing new or random one shots. And also, you gotta be quick with response because you never know I never come back to check on the story. I tend to forget.
