Splish Splash

Hi all, sorry not been able to update, heres a mini moment to keep you all going, I'll be back with a longer moment as soon as its ready. Hope you've all made it to this thread! 

Splish splash

“Splish splash splash” .. followed by a little laughter and more splashing - that’s all Prerna  could hear as she looked for Snehas favourite pink t-shirt and dungarees in her drawers  whilst  her little baby  floated in the bath tub with her yellow duckling toy.

Fetching a towel after laying out Snehas  clothes  Prerna  quickly hurries  back into the bathroom to make sure little Sneha  doesn’t catch a cold.

She wraps  a big towel around her  to keep her warm only to see her look up towards her  with the most adorable baby eyes and pink cheeks. 

“Splish, splash..” she mumbled cutely with a grin as her mother towel  dried her hair.

“The splish splash is water”

Prerna tried to tell her but she took no notice and she just carried on.

Sneha  had a cuteness about her like  no other that just made everyone  smile.

...

Putting her down in the lounge amongst a few of her toys and her play area Prerna taps little Sneha on her nose.

“Now play with your toys whilst ma ma makes you something to eat  okay..

I won’t be long” she speaks softy as one would with a bambino  and Sneha looks on at her mother. 

“Splish splash” she says yet again this time looking towards the french windows at a distance. She was looking out   towards the rainy weather beyond the windows 

Water seemed to be her new thing thought Prerna. “Maybe Later...” she said leaving her in her play area having  put out her favourite toy to keep her busy.

...

Prerna, took some things out of the fridge, opened up a cupboard, and began to run the tap. Just making a start for the door bell to ring.

Rushing to get the door  Prerna leaves a thing or to unseen to including a running hot water tap.

Elsewhere Sneha  who had wondered off from her play area sees the tap running and her eyes light up innocently “Splish splash” she calls out. 

Having seen her sister cleverly reach tall places by climbing on a stool Sneha manages the same. 

..

Not much later  Rishabh hears Sneha cry out and rushes to her her at once. 

Her little hand  scolded by the hot water Rishabh runs it under cold water to cool the discomfort. 

“Sushhh .. There you are”  he consoles a crying Sneha holding her hand steadily under the cool water stood behind her whilst tears still roll down her little face.

Having heard Snehas crying Prerna too rushed back as quick as possible.

“Kya hua?” She said in worry seeing Rishabh  take Sneha in his arms and walk her towards the kitchen table whilst trying  her to calm down. 

“She’s hurt” he replied  , Prerna at once looked for  the first aid kit. 

On her return  she saw how Rishabh had now perched Sneha up on the dining table blowing  air on her little fingers he rummaged the first aid box she’d bought over for a ointment.

He coaxed Sneha into letting him see her finger tips so he could apply the cream and put a plaster around her slightly red thumb.   

As concerned as Prerna was for Sneha she could feel Mr Bajaj as distressed maybe even more. 

“Fire whoever the hell left that tap running .. Irresponsible’!” He cursed angrily. Mr Bajajs anger was always that more unforgiving  than anyone else’s. 

It would be wrong to let him take out anger on the staff when they weren’t to blame.

“Hamari galti thi” (it was my mistake l, I left it it on”) She confessed.

The look of disappointment he gave her in return compared to non. 

She could see he was trying his best to control his temper but it seeped through.  

“I never want to see this happen again ” he scolded  in a stern voice. 

When he didn’t get a reply he repeated himself. 

“Have I made myself clear?”

Prerna for one reason or the other couldn’t look at him which Rishabh didn’t take well too. 

“HAVE I MADE MYSELF CLEAR!!?” He said now raising his voice. Sending a shiver down her spine.

Her eyes when she did look at him were apologetic and emotional.

“Ji” (yes) she replied with a nod trying not to let that one tear she could feel foaming in her eyes fall. 

Rishabh picked Sneha up  off the table and she wrapped her hands around her da’s neck and settled into his shoulder.

Prerna watched him  walk Sneha out towards the french doors to let her see her  much loved rain through the window. A way to take her mind off her little accident and make her smile. 

Seeing father daughter at a distance so compatible and comfortable even Inseparable ,Prernas heart felt overwhelmed.

 Walking into the kitchen for a quiet moment to free her feelings she put  down the first aid box to a side and took a sigh. 

The sound of the tap leaking at the skin made Prerna think yet again about  had just happened Walking towards the sink to tighten the tap the tears she’d been pushing back could no longer keep from falling.  As  her tears ran she consoled  herself as quietly as possible as not to be heard by others 

..

Back in the lounge now Sneha was smiling rather than crying and had forgotten all about her little accident Rishabh put her down amongst her soft toys.

“Sneha is hurt” she mumbled to her teddy bears bravely.

Rishabh looked on at his baby girl with warm eyes contemplating on the fact that  she wasn’t the only one hurting. 

He looked towards the kitchen thinking of Prerna.

"Just 2 mins she said hearing Mr Bajajs footsteps enter the kitchen behind her. Without turning to him she  assumed he was her to collect Sneha milk." 

As soon as Prerna turned to hand over the bottle, Rishabh could see she’d been crying. 

He cursed himself silently for not being able to control his temper. 

He stepped closer, turning her his way as she handed him the bottle. 

Their eyes met and Rishabh was about to have the first word when Prerna made him realise the tears weren’t because of his temper. They were out of overwhelm for what Sneha seemed to have and that was a father who loved her unconditionally  even if she wasn’t his own.

 “Thank you for giving Sneha  as much love as you do Kuki” she said with the most tender of eyes, it was something she’d always wanted to say but today felt like  the right time.

The way in which Mr Bajaj had reacted today was everything and every bit the same as he would have done for kuki. Comforting her with his gaze, Rishabh made sure Prerna knew he had no intention of it ever being any different.
