Summary: Swayam and Rey have been childhood friends who grew apart. When Swayam came back in Rey's life, he brought with him a dreadful disease for Rey- one sided love. Author's Note: Thank you LizzieBennett for beta reading.

Based on the prompt I gave on the writing prompt I gave on Submit a Writing Prompt thread: "Character A and B were childhood friends but then B shifted towns. They are now back as the new college student and Character A is the popular one at the college, while B are seeing someone/rumoured to be gay. One conversation in the library sparks old flames that Character A realizes had always been there, since their childhood. "

Hanahaki Disease- Fictional disease in which the victim coughs up flower petals when they suffer from one-sided love. It ends when the beloved returns their feelings, or when the victim dies.
I have tweaked it a bit. Ever since I read that this disease exists in the Japanese fanlore, I couldn't resist an angsty story, afterall, angst and death of character is my jam. Credits to the author on another site who made me aware of the Hanahaki Disease via their story.
