Sushant Singh Rajput's upcoming film film 'M.S Dhoni: The Untold Story' which is a biopic on Mahendra Singh Dhoni, has created a lot of buzz since the release of its official trailer. Sushant has also been appreciated for his performance in the trailer. An important news piece about the film has caught our eyes.
As per reports, the makers of the film have paid nearly 40 Lakhs to BCCI to obtain real footage of Dhoni's winning shot during 2011 Cricket World Cup. Also, a few scenes from the trailer where Sushant is seen batting are actually the original scenes of Dhoni's live performance.
Even the film is reported to have many more scenes of Dhoni's live performance on field. When asked about the same to film's director Neeraj Pandey said, " I have no information whether how much Focus (production team) has paid to the BCCI" (sic)
However, a spokesperson from BCCI confirmed the news saying, "Look, BCCI has a standard rate card for selling of footage. The same rates has been charged with the producers of M.S Dhoni. Well, I can't say how much money have they paid but yes, they haven't been given any discount". (sic)
With such a heavy amount to be paid, it has extensively increased the production cost of the film.
But will the film live up to it's expectations? That's something for the audience to decide.
The film will hit the theaters on 29th September, 2016.
