Recently, Bollywood actor Randeep Hooda voiced out his opinions on Twitter after a video of a goons lynching on a female forest officer went viral on Sunday morning. The officer was supervising a tree plantation campaign in Telangana. She was brutally beaten with rods and sticks as its fierce blows struck her. The mob was led by Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) MLA Koneru Konappa's brother, Koneru Krishna Rao.

The actor took to his twitter handle and pleaded for help from PM Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, Prakash Javadekar among other BJP officials. The Bollywood actor often voices out his opinions about social evils in the country and says, “This is my country and I have every right to talk about issues that bother me and do whatever I can to bring the attention of people or authorities to any matter which deserves attention.”

The recent developments in the case suggest that Koneru Krishna Rao has been arrested. A case has also been registered against 15 others who were involved besides, Krishna. Koneru Krishna Rao has also resigned his post as Zilla Parishad Vice Chairman.

During a recent interaction with Times of India, Randeep was asked why he chooses to speak up against this particular issue when none of the Telugu or Telangana celebs reacted.

What does that even mean? This is my country and I have every right to talk about issues that bother me and do whatever I can to bring the attention of people or authorities to any matter which deserves attention. Ever since a friend shared this video of the lady officer being beaten up and asked if I could do something about it, I’ve been disturbed. I’m glad that action has been taken by the Telangana DGP and the government, who have come down very heavily on the culprits.

It’s disturbing to see how some local mafia with political power can dare to do something so heinous, that to with a lady officer! It’s absolutely unacceptable. I have immense respect for IAS officers and people who are working for the betterment of our country.

Addressing his concerns regarding the conflicts of environmental changes, he said, “I’ve always been interested in environmental issues and have been doing my bit as well. I work at the grass-roots level and am in touch with a lot of people. So, I know what issues officers who work in the forest department go through and how they live in hostile conditions. They deserve respect. Local people turning hostile just because they have some political support is simply not done.”

The actor is often praised for questioning the existence of problems in the society and is also known to work at the ground level seeking the solutions for these problems. He also encourages the citizens of the nation to raise their voice against the issues persisting in society.
