Even after more than two decades of acting in multiple languages, actor Atul Kulkarni has never replicated a performance, as evident by his recent film, 'A Thursday.' The actor has received a lot of positive feedback for his portrayal as Javed Khan in the thriller.
In an exclusive chat with ETimes, the actor discussed the 'incredible' responses he has received for the film, the OTT sector, his excitement for the upcoming Ajay Devgn movie 'Rudra: The Edge of Darkness,' and much more.
The actor was asked about the kind of reactions he has been getting for his performance in ‘A Thursday’ and the film in general. Atul answered saying,
"It's actually the volume of response I'm getting, which is unprecedented. I've been overwhelmed for the past 4-5 days. After so many years in the film industry, one assumes that one has become adapted to it, but this is never the case. I'm pretty pleased with myself."
On if OTT has been a gamechanger for many in the industry, he said,
"After so many years in the profession, one has witnessed numerous developments. Because the camera is a technical medium, when technology advances, the changes are reflected in this field. Changes in film storytelling have been observed. I've seen how things have changed since the advent of digital technology. Of course, it's a new technology, and the format is lengthier but more defined because there are 8-10 episodes. You're essentially writing 2-3 films' worth of stuff. As technology evolves, actors must adapt in the same way that they have been adapting to it. Perhaps in 2-3 years, we'll be talking about something completely different."
Meanwhile, he also spilled some beans on ‘Rudra: The Edge of Darkness’ and told the news portal that,
“Rudra: the Edge of Darkness’ is an extravaganza. It is a big show. It is not something that you expect on OTT, grandeur wise, story wise, actor-wise. It is the first time an A-lister (Ajay Devgn) is coming on this platform. The entire experience is an anecdote because Rudra, as I said, is huge. We shot at more than 70 locations for six episodes. There is every reason to watch Rudra."
On the work front, Atul Kulkarni will be seen in the Ajay Devgn-starrer series Rudra: The Edge Of Darkness and has also penned the much-awaited, Aamir Khan's Laal Singh Chaddha.
