WAR 2 starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR is one of the most awaited movies of 2025. Ayan Mukerji will be directing his first big action movie for Yash Raj Films. Jr NTR had spent around 10 days in Mumbai when they shot a short schedule. It seems the makers are now prepping for a long shoot as he has completed his work on Devara. It seems Hrithik Roshan will join Jr NTR in the Ramoji Film City of Hyderabad. The two will be filming some critical action sequences. The set is now under construction and a Hollywood action director is training stuntmen for the same.
Ayan Mukerji along with Hrithik Roshan finished a shoot in Japan. It seems it is the introduction scenes of Hrithik. The two have shot at the famous Shaolin Temple. Ayan Mukerji has designed an exquisite sequence given the setting that is synonymous with Kung Fu. Japan has become a market for Indian movies post the success of RRR. Given that Jr NTR has gained a huge fan base in Japan, it made sense to bring in an element of that nation.
Jr NTR is going to play the antagonist in the movie. This is his first big film from a Bollywood production house. WAR made Rs 500 crore plus in 2019. Siddharth Anand was the director of that film. But it seems Anand was busy with some other projects. After seeing Brahmastra, Aditya Chopra felt Ayan Mukerji could execute what he wanted in terms of technicality. Shoot began last year in Italy. Kiara Advani is the leading lady of WAR 2.
WAR 2 will be made on a budget of above Rs 300 crores. Hrithik Roshan said he was keen to work with Jr NTR whom he described as a very “exciting actor”. There was a dinner in Mumbai attended by Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR, Saba Azad, Ayan Mukerji and Karan Johar. Even Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor had joined them for the same. In Dussehra, Devara will hit the theatres clashing with Alia Bhatt’s Jigra, which is made by Vasan Bala.
