Senior politician Baba Siddique was shot dead in Mumbai on October 12, reportedly by members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The police investigation is ongoing, but sources suggest Siddique was targeted due to his close ties with actor Salman Khan, who has been under threat from the gang for years. Amid this chaos, an old speech by actor Vivek Oberoi has gone viral, where he commends the Bishnoi community for their beliefs and customs. He compares their practices to those in his own household.
In the viral clip, the actor stated, “If you search for the Bishnoi community on Google, you won't find anything like it anywhere else in the world. In every household, including mine, we give cow's milk to our children. The Bishnoi community is unique; if a fawn loses its mother, the Bishnoi mothers take it in and feed it milk just like they do for their kids. You won’t find this anywhere else globally.”
Following Baba Siddique's assassination, Salman Khan's security has been upgraded to the Y+ category. As reported by India Today, his security now includes police escort vehicles whenever he goes out, along with a trained constable skilled in various weapons.
Moreover, Salman’s personal security has been reinforced, and he has been advised to restrict visitors for the upcoming weeks.
Salman Khan and his father, Salim Khan, have faced threats from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Earlier this year, shots were fired outside the actor's home in Bandra. In another alarming incident, a letter left for his father at Bandra Bandstand warned that they could meet the same fate as singer Sidhu Moose Wala, who was shot dead in Punjab's Mansa in 2022.
