Vicky Kaushal, who is the son of action director Sham Kaushal, didn't always have acting in mind as his career path. He recently shared that his original plan after post-graduation was to settle abroad. However, during an industrial visit to a multinational company, he had an epiphany that working in a cubicle wasn't for him, leading him to reconsider his career choices.
In a frank chat with Harper's Bazaar India digital edition, Vicky Kaushal reminisced about his journey and the pivotal moment that steered him towards a different career path. Not many know that he holds a degree in electronics and telecommunications engineering. Similar to many parents, Vicky's father aimed for him to pursue a secure profession, different from the unpredictable nature of the entertainment industry.

The actor initially opted for science, pursued engineering, and envisioned a conventional 9-5 career path. His plan included moving abroad, unaware that his true passions were elsewhere.
He said, "In college, I thought I'd follow the conventional route, maybe settle abroad after my postgraduate degree. But everything changed during an industrial visit to a multinational company."
The visit to the multinational company's office was a turning point for him as it provided a sneak peek into his potential future and the inner workings of the corporate world. Kausal expressed, "The moment I stepped into that office, I knew it wasn't for me. I couldn't see myself stuck in a cubicle; I would be so unhappy."
Subsequently, the actor opted to switch careers, veering away from the initial plan of embracing a traditional 9 to 5 job. Over time, he delved into the realm of acting, engaged in theater, attended auditions, and took on supporting roles until landing his breakthrough in the film Masaan, altering his trajectory.
Recently, Vicky Kaushal starred in Bad Newz alongside Triptii Dimri and Ammy Vikrant. His upcoming project, Chhaava, features Rashmika Mandanna and Akshaye Khanna as his co-stars.
