Vicky Kaushal reveals Sam Manekshaw's daughter's reaction to 'Tauba Tauba': "You can't be doing this now....."

Vicky Kaushal has steadily built a reputation as one of Bollywood’s most versatile actors, consistently delivering powerful performances in a variety of roles. His recent portrayal of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw in Meghna Gulzar's biopic Sam Bahadur followed by Bad Newz put that to display. In a recent interview, Vicky revealed an unforgettable moment when he received what he considers the "biggest compliment" of his career. 

After the release of the song "Tauba Tauba" from his film Bad Newz, Vicky received a message from Sam Manekshaw’s daughter, who was taken aback by his performance. She had previously watched Sam Bahadur and was so convinced by Vicky’s portrayal that she asked, “Who is this guy?” When Vicky sought clarification, she explained, “Five months ago, you made me believe you’re my father; you can’t be doing this now.” This feedback left a deep impact on Vicky, who felt it was the highest form of praise, reflecting the authenticity of his portrayal.

Vicky has often spoken about the challenges of playing Sam Manekshaw, a role he considers his most demanding yet. Growing up, Vicky heard stories from his parents, who lived in Punjab during the 1971 war and would huddle in dark rooms, eagerly waiting for updates from Manekshaw on the radio. These childhood memories made the role even more significant for him. Under the meticulous direction of Meghna Gulzar, Vicky took on the challenge with dedication, bringing the legendary Army officer to life on the big screen.

Beyond Sam Bahadur, Vicky has also made waves with his performance in the song "Tauba Tauba" from Bad Newz. His role in the film has showcased yet another facet of his versatility. Vicky played the role of a Punjabi guy in the film alongside Triptii Dimri and Ammy Virk, showcasing his desi munda vibes and putting to display his comic timing and the more humorous side. 

 As Vicky Kaushal continues to explore diverse roles, his upcoming projects are highly anticipated. He will be seen essaying the role of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj in his upcoming historical film Chhava. The film stars Rashmika Mandanna opposite Vicky and this will be the first time we will see them share the screen space.
