Vicky Kaushal recalls how he got into trouble with sand mining mafia during shoot of Gangs Of Wasseypur

Vicky Kaushal is on a high as Bad Newz has got him his best-ever career opening. The handsome hunk who is getting immense appreciation for his acting started off as an assistant director. He worked with Anurag Kashyap on Gangs Of Wasseypur. The 2012 film is one of the cult movies of post 2000 Bollywood. The authentic vibe of the film made it an all-time classic. But getting raw footage of those locations was a tough task, and people had to even risk their own safety. 

For the promotions of Bad Newz, Vicky Kaushal was talking to Tanmay Bhat. He said that the coal smuggling shown in the movie was real. It seems the team went to capture visuals of illegal sand mining. They were shocked to see the normalcy around it like it is regular business. He said there were 500 trucks stationed there. Vicky Kaushal and one member of the crew were secretly filming some visuals. There were in a crowd of 500 people. The camera attendant called up the unit to say that they were caught up with this, and hence the camera was not available on the actual set. It seems one of the mafia men thought they were about to complain and slapped the cameraman. They threatened to break the camera as well. Vicky Kaushal and he just made a narrow escape from there. 

It seems they were also shooting at Banaras station, and the cops did not know about it. The camera was in a van and they had to take a single shot. It was a scene of Nawazuddin Siddiqui. When they were shooting, two cops saw the camera and were about to cross-question them. It seems Vicky Kaushal told the driver of the van that it was time to scoot. He shared many anecdotes on what made Gangs Of Wasseypur so authentic.  

Vicky Kaushal also has Chhava in the pipeline. It is made by Laxman Utekar. He is playing Sambhaji in the movie. The first look is absolutely awesome.
