Varun Kasturia, who plays Ansh in Rajan Shahi and Deepa Shahi’s popular show Anupamaa, is preparing for a Diwali that feels particularly meaningful this year. The festival coincides with the completion of his first year on the show, marking a milestone in both his personal and professional journey.

“This Diwali feels really special because it marks a year of being part of this show. Completing a year with the team has built such a strong bond. There’s more energy, more enthusiasm, and a deeper connection with what we’re doing. Personally too, I feel grateful for how much I’ve grown through this journey,” Varun shared, reflecting on his experience on the show.

A Year of Growth and Reflection

Looking back, Varun mentioned that his journey wasn’t always smooth. “There was a phase when things weren’t really going the way I’d hoped, both personally and professionally. But that phase also pushed me to focus on myself, to work harder and believe that things would eventually turn around. When the right opportunities started coming my way, it really felt like light conquering darkness — that reminder that patience and faith do pay off,” he explained. The Diwali festival, which symbolizes the victory of light over darkness, has therefore taken on a deeper meaning for him this year.

On-Set Celebrations and Family Time

Varun also spoke about how festivals are celebrated on the Anupamaa set. “Our show celebrates every festival with such grandeur and heart that it never feels like work — it’s one big family celebration,” he said. The sense of togetherness on set mirrors real-life festive warmth and adds to the enjoyment of the season.

Regarding his personal Diwali plans, Varun shared, “I’m keeping it simple this year with a classic white kurta that my mom helped me pick and get stitched. The day will be all about family, close friends, good food, and laughter — just the way Diwali should be.” He emphasized that, despite work commitments, he wants to spend quality time with loved ones and enjoy the traditional elements of the festival.

Concluding on a reflective note, Varun said, “This year, I’m thankful for the present moment, for work I love, and for how far things have come.” For him, Diwali is not only a time for celebration but also a moment to acknowledge personal growth, resilience, and meaningful connections formed over the past year.

This Diwali marks a blend of festive joy and personal reflection for Varun Kasturia, making it a memorable one both on and off screen.
