Parmeet Sethi reveals planning to charge Kapil Sharma a royalty: 'Initially, Archana and I owned….'

Parmeet Sethi recently opened up about his life, sharing insights into his career and personal life. The actor-director talked about his early days, his relationship with wife Archana Puran Singh, and jokingly mentioned he might charge Kapil Sharma royalty for using his name on the comedian's show.

Talking to Pinkvilla, Parmeet Sethi said, "Initially, Archana and I owned a production house. We started a talk show, which was quite similar to Kapil Sharma's show. I used to write scripts, and Archana did stand-ups." Parmeet Sethi laughed off the question about being shocked by Kapil Sharma's joke targeting him and Archana Puran Singh, and jokingly claimed he's already asked Kapil to pay him royalties for using their names.

Parmeet Sethi shared insights into his relationship with wife Archana Puran Singh, explaining their friendship-based approach to marriage. "We don't get into the trap of being a typical husband-wife. Being friends with each other is very important. Of course, there will be problems, but you have to go into the friendship mode and talk it out. There's give and take as friends."

Parmeet Sethi shared that he married Archana Puran Singh in 1992, keeping it private due to industry norms where married actresses faced career setbacks. They announced their marriage when Archana was pregnant with their son Aaryamann. "It was much before DDLJ (Dilwale Dulhania Le Jaayenge). We did not announce it to the world because that was the time when the actresses were offered no work if they got married. It was not like today, as you see, Kajol, Deepika, and Alia are working today. So we did not announce it. When Archana was pregnant with Aaryamann, we announced our marriage. Of course, the industry people knew, but officially, we did not tell anyone."
