Releasing on the 7th of November is
Ketan Mehta's
Rang Rasiya,
a biopic on the life of the acclaimed painter Raja Ravi Varma, the man
who painted the faces of the Hindu Gods and Goddesses. Gifted actor
Randeep Hooda is all set to play the role of Varma. The movie also stars
Anupam Kher,
Nandana Sen,
Darshan Jariwala and
Paresh Rawal in
supporting roles. The movie was filmed back in the year 2008, but has
been in post production due to the Indian Censor Board's issues with
certain bold scenes in the movie. Given that this film has finally
gotten a release date after over 6 years, it is only fair that we hit
the theaters to find out more about the life of the man who was a fairly
controversial name during his time!
Also releasing on the 7th of November is Abhishek Sharma's
The Shaukeens, which happens to be a remake of
Utpal Dutt's
Shaukeen (1982).
Much like the original, this film revolves around 3 elderly men on a
trip to Goa, who try to woo a young girl (
Lisa Haydon), not realising
that she's their friend's son's girlfriend. With a star studded cast
including
Akshay Kumar in an extended appearance,
Abhishek Bachchan in a
cameo,
Anupam Kher, Anu Kapoor and
Piyush Mishra as the three elderly
men and
Rati Agnihotri in a special appearance, this movie seems like a
fun watch this coming weekend!
The 14th of November sees the release of Yash Raj Films' much awaited
Kill Dil, directed by
Shaad Ali, best known for directing popular films like
Saathiya (2002) and
Bunty Aur Babli (2005).
Boasting of a young and popular star cast including
Ranveer Singh,
Parineeti Chopra and
Ali Zafar, the movie will also see
Govinda playing
an antagonist for the first time since
Shikaar (2000). The film
revolves around Tutu (Zafar) and Dev (Singh), who're Bhaiyaji's
(
Govinda) henchmen, and how their lives change after the entry of Disha
(Chopra). Given that the songs and promos are already the talk of the
town, the expectations from this movie have risen tremendously. Whether
or not this film lives up to the hype, only time will tell!
Saif Ali Khan makes a return to the silver screen after the debacle of Sajid Khan's
Humshakals, and will next be seen in Illuminati Films' next venture,
Happy Ending.
Scheduled to release on the 21st of November, the film boasts of an
ensemble star cast, including the likes of
Govinda,
Ileana D'Cruz, Kalki
Koechlin,
Preity Zinta,
Ranvir Shorey, and a cameo by
Kareena Kapoor
Khan. The story revolves around a fading and aging movie star, Armaan
(
Govinda), who is looking for the right script to propel him back into
stardom, and he chances upon Yudi (Khan), an author struggling with
writers' block, and gets him to write a script for his comeback movie.
Whether Yudi manages to write a script that revives his dying career
and helps propel Armaan back into stardom, is what makes up for the rest
of the movie. Add in Khan's double role (he plays the characters of
Yudi and Yogi), a delusional ex-girlfriend (Koechlin) and a love
interest (D'Cruz), this movie seems like the perfect comic caper to
watch with a bunch of friends!
The last Friday of November sees the release of another multi-starrer film,
Ungli.
Directed by Rensil D'Silva under Dharma Productions' banner, the movie
stars
Emraan Hashmi,
Kangana Ranaut and
Sanjay Dutt in prominent roles.
The movie focuses on 5 rebels (including Ranaut and Hashmi) who set out
to fight corruption, but face multiple roadblocks in the form of
Inspector Kale (Dutt).
Ungli also features the gorgeous Shraddha
Kapoor swaying her hips to "Dance Basanti", a song that has taken the
nation by storm. Not much is known about the movie as of now, something
which adds to the suspense. To find out whether or not these rebels
succeed in their noble cause, we'll have to hit the theaters on the 28th
of November!
Along with the aforementioned
movies, November will also see the release of a few low budget movies,
such as Wah Taj (21st November) and Phir Kabhi (28th November). This
month's roundup definitely looks promising, and we at BollyCurry are
looking forward to the release of most of the films. Which films are you
excited to watch in theaters? Comment below and let us know!
